Beware of "campers" at MNSSHP

In the Parks
Yes
My wife and I were there for the MNSSHP on the 24th and while waiting for the first parade (yes it did rain) there was a constant stream of cast members escorting non-ticketed parties of people towards the exit. They were easily identified by their distinctive ghost placards illuminated from below. Every establishment, ride and candy distribution point has cast members who check for wristbands promptly at 7pm. You can't even walk into Casey's Corner without one no matter how much you beg and plead for "but I just want to buy a coke".

Seri as they've cut a lot of the decor, there isn't much extra to look at inside the park.

I personally can't see paying $60 per person for one of the parties and then sitting down and having a TS dinner when all you have is 5 hours.
You are allowed to enter the park at 4:00 PM if you have a ticket to one of the parties.

slightly off point, but i didn't realize you get escorted out by security.
we have reservations at BOG at 6:30 on a party night in 2 weeks. we are doing the party a different night so don't need to hang out to see anything after dinner. we plan to leave right after dinner and go for a night swim at our hotel. but I have to be honest, the thought of being escorted out by security makes me feel like a criminal. not sure I like the idea of that, it's not my fault you gave me a reservation that keeps me in the park after party time.

When I was there Sept. 17th. I had BOG reservations at 4.30 and MNSSHP pass. When I was talking to CM I was told on nights of MNSSHP the restaurant closes at 7pm when technically the park closes.

You're not escorted out by security. That's ridiculous. You are simply ushered out of the parks by CM's along the way if you do not have a wristband. They are not shackling you and marching you to the exit with police uniforms.

ok, glad it's not security, but according to networkpro it is still CMs in costume with lighted placards and it is clearly obvious to folks you are getting the boot. (i say clearly because HE noticed it !)
it certainly is going to make me feel uncomfortable and that folks are staring at me thinking "ha ha- cheater- out you go".
maybe i went to Catholic School for too long and the fear of guilt is too strong, but I know I am going to feel uncomfortable as a party of seven of us get "ushered" out. I'll survive, but not looking forward to the walk of shame

They don't escort you out anymore. The new magic bands issue a series of electric shocks until you leave.

LOL

great idea........I'm going to tell my brother that he is required to wear all 7 of our Magic Bands, spread out on all his arms and legs, and watch what happens.
wait, wait, we have two separate reservations so we have 14 magic bands all together, now this could be fun!

Last time we were at MNSSHp, no one left. at all. People bragged that they would never pay for the party. Place was beyond crowded. the days of wristbands had gone. Maybe the darn MM+ program will cut down on it, we'll see. But I won't go back to a special party until I know they are only selling x amount of tickets, and removing those that don't buy a ticket.

Was at the party last week. About 7:40 a wall of shoulder to shoulder CMs 2-3 deep was progressing down Main Street from the Hub to the train station. The only way to get past them was to have a visible wristband. All the doors to the stores on both sides were closed, and had a CM in place checking wristbands before letting you in. They were doing a pretty effective sweep at that time.

That's good. I had given up after that last time, so I guess they have gone back to being strict about it since then. It was irritating having longer lines at the parties then the daytime park hours. I may just try it next year!

Yes, but the party itself starts @ 7:00 pm. Then eat @ 4:30 PM before all of the party activities start so you don't miss them. Or if you are using the party ticket to gain access to a park for that day then eat a late lunch somewhere before going to the park and grab a snack on the run during the night.

Maybe it is just me, but to spend $60 per person is a lot of money for the party and I want to get everything I can out of it.

That is a good. In the past I have seen many people at the end of the night still in the parks and riding rides and watching fireworks. They used to close the MK @ 6:00 pm for regular day guests with the party starting @ 7:00 then they moved the closing to 7:00 which seemed to create a real cluster ***** for the first hour or so specially since it never seemed like they were enforcing the rules for the party.

WDW should introduce magic bands that light up or make a loud piercing noise. That way when you are at a hard ticket event and didn't pay, your band will go off at a certain time until you leave the park. Then everyone can point and say "freeloader."

Warning: this was said in jest.

You could dress the whole family up in orange prison jumpsuits so you look the part. It is Halloween time so you can get away with dressing up;)

We were stuck in MK for Mickey's Christmas Party one year. We had all intentions of leaving but couldn't get down Main Street with the stroller (Yup, that's us with the double wide stroller. I promise we are aware of the issue and try to be polite with it.) and weren't allowed through the stores without the ticket. Hung out around the hub until the crowd thinned and made a break for it.

This isn't new people do this every night in Epcot at Rose & Crown, eat and wait for fireworks. I don't think if I'm paying extra money for hard ticket party I would spend any time sitting down to eat. It's possible they made the ADR before the date of the party was posted and did not want to change to a different night. I do think it is rude to stay at a table when you are finished.
Yep and they also do this at Ohana. It's not only rude to other dining guests but to the wait staff as well.

Does ESPN Club at Boardwalk have similar issues with "campers" on Super Bowl Sunday? I've never been during that time, but wondered how the place operates that night. Surely they can't let people stay for 3+ hours during the game, or else they'd lose business. But then again, early February prior to President's Week isn't exactly busy season for WDW, so it may not matter how long patrons camp at their tables. For those who have been during the Super Bowl, what is the place like? Is it hell-on-earth for the servers or run pretty smoothly?

I doubt it's any different than security ushering people out at the end of a concert, etc. The only people who are doing anything wrong are the people without party wristbands who AREN'T being ushered out. That's who we'll save our scorn for.
