Anyone have any experiences with this hotel in kissimmee, as I'm staying there at the end of this month?

Hello,
I stayed at the Best Western Lakeside the first week of April. My mother worked for Best Western at the time so i got a employee rate and i think a employee type room. Check in is was easy. It is very easy to find on 192 and yes it is very close to Disney Animal Kingdom. The resort looked a little run down from the outside. But it looks like they are starting to redo everything in the rooms because the funture looked new. There is a Pizza Hut express on site, but there are a lot of great resturants right in the area. They do have security on site walking around in the parking lot and in the hotel book to walk in groups and not alone. And if you need to go somewere i suggest driving and not walking, at least at night. To get to Disney's Animal Kingdom you take a left out of the complex and then a left at the next light. That puts you on a back road to Disney's Animal Kingdom. At the end of the road at the light take a right and that way you can go anywhere you want to on property. And on the way back follow the sign's for the Aniamal Kingdom Lodge and then take a left at the light before the lodge and that will put you on the back road. I suggest not speeding though here because the police sit there a lot. If you have any questions please let me know and i will answer them to the best i can.

Welcome to the "Happest Celebration on Earth".

This is my review of the hotel from back in December:

We ended up staying 2 nights at BWL and it wasn't too bad, considering the price we paid. Our only issue was the extra resort fees that you are charged for coffee and such, even if you didn't use it you paid for it, so we ended up bringing the coffee, tea and sugar/napkin/stirrers home, after all we were paying $3.50 for it. Our fridge wasn't really getting things really cold and the toliet didn't flush unless you held the handle down for a little while.

Perk is they have a Pizza Hut Express (if you do this, make sure to pick it up yourself, delivery adds about $8.00 to the pizza price. Don't buy snacks and such from the general store (where Pizza Hut Express is) Go to Walgreens just across the parking lot (you can walk to it from your hotel room) to grab whatever items you need, they will be much cheaper (mind you it's very much into tourists, lots of t-shirts and such) Easy access to the main highway, the parks and lots of restaurants.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, it is very much appreciated. I too have read some good feedback about this place, but I am keen to get feedback for myself, so that I can be sure that I get the whole picture (and not just selective feedback which some websites practice to ensure they can sell holidays to the aforementioned hotel). I am looking forward to going there in 9 days, and the news that we can get to Disney very quickly, especially AK is brilliant. I'm really looking forward to riding EE, so I'm really psyched for AK. Thanks for all your help again guys and if you ever need help from me for anything, don't hesitate to ask. (Not that I have many useful traits!)

Cheers

As you are 'round the corner from AK Animal Kingdom Lodge, don't forget to drop in and check that place out. All you can eat Buffet at Boma is fantastic or for counter service head to Mara. Try the African Stew :slurp:
