Best Week to Visit in August

I am thinking to visit some time in August of 2007. I know it will be crowded (since it is the summer). However, I was wondering what would be the best week to go?

Perhaps 8/18 through 8/24?

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks!

of all the times i went in late august, it wasnt nearly as crowded as it is in late june/early july. My family was actualy originally supposed to go aug. 19-24 but me going away to college conflicted that so we settled for july 29-aug 5. But the 18-24 seem like perfect dates.

We actually like visiting in August and the later, the better. We've stayed as late in August as the Thursday before Labor Day. We love it. The crowds get lighter and lighter as more kids go back to school. Even with the free dining offered last year while we were there, the crowds were pretty light.

Now, keep in mind that park hours are shorter in August. If you're a person who likes really early mornings and super late nights, you may want to check park hours before booking.

We're going earlier this year because my older daughter is going to be a freshman at college and there may be orientation and such. I hope the crowds aren't too bad from the 6th to the 16th.

We visited August 1st - 22nd last year and were expecting to find it very busy because of the school holidays. It was quieter than our previous visits over the Easter period. The beginning of the month was quiet - it got busier in the second week and then quietened down into the third week

It may stay a bit more crowded into August starting this year than in years past. Up until now Florida schools would be back in session in early August. However, a new law that goes into effect with this upcoming school year prevents schools from starting any earlier than August 20th. So the weekend of the 18th may be a bit more crowded this year since this will be summer's last blast for alot of kids, but you should notice a pretty big decrease come Monday morning when the school buses start rolling again.

The end of August is usually the least crowded time of the summer because all of the Florida schools as well as most of the other southern states are back in school by then(but, watch out that it doesn't spill over into Labor Day weekend).
I have been to WDW in August and it is hotter than HELL, I am serious!
Remember lots and lots of sunscreen(especially the tops of your feet if your wearing sandals and the lower half of your legs can get fried if you don't use sunscreen on them)
Also drink plenty of water!

We go every year the last week in August usually through Labor Day Weekend. It's rarely been crowded. Most schools in the South are back in school or parents are preparing kids for school. Biggest problem : Potential Hurricanes.

Any time after the 1st week in August is good. All the local kids are back in school by then, so you don't get alot of day trippers during the week. The weekends still tend to get slightly more crowded but nothing like June & July. We were there the 15th to 29th last year and we couldn't believe...20 min. stand by for SPace Mountain....40 minutes (unheard of) for Splash Mountain)
We are going this year the 14th to the 24th:sohappy:

We did some research on this when planning our honeymoon and we decided on August 26th to September 3rd. It seems like that the least crowded you're going to get.
