Best Week In January 2010 to go?

If you could go for any 6-7 nights in January 2010, which dates would you go to experience the lowest crowds? Does the marathon and MLK day affect the crowds a lot? Thank you!!!

Right after New Years. The saturday before the marathon is very busy...the MK was packed that day, but it is only that one saturday.

I'd try the early Jan, its nice and quiet.

Our first day in the parks this year was the day of the Marathon and we had absolutely no problem getting around. We chose AK and went about our morning there with little problem. The runners were passing by and we had to time our crossings to other parts of the park when the runners had gaps but other then that it was no problem. The week was relatively light in crowds. We go in January every other year, next year it will be February in order to get two 8 day visits in on our AP's.

3-10th should be fine. The ending part of your trip will be a little more crowded, especially at the hotels, as the marathoners will be coming in. The crowds at the parks dont increase terribly because of this, but the hotels do fill up.
