Hello everyone. This is part 4 in my “Best WDW Restaurants” series, focusing on the best dining options (for atmosphere, food quality and entertainment )and in all 4 parks, the resorts and DS. Today we’ll be focusing on my personal favorite park: Animal Kingdom. So... What are your favorite restaurants in AK? And I’m doing something new today: What dishes would you recommend from these establishments?

Have you seen the baked mac & cheese with barbeque pulled pork at Flame Tree? Not eaten it yet, but it's on the list for the next trip.

My faves:
Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe
It was good! It was glorified mall food court Chinese food but unlike the Lotus Blossom Cafe in Epcot, it’s good lol. A downfall is that seating is very limited and outside.

Are you serious? Yak & Yeti's seating is outside?

If this is correct, I'm about to cancel some dining reservations.

Yak & Yeti is the only restaurant in AK that I have eaten at, but my wife have gone every time we've been to WDW...so twice. The first time we went, it was so unplanned. We had just finished the Wild Africa Trek, it was midday and we needed a place to relax, have a drink and a bite, and we stumbled upon Y&Y. It was full inside, but they had a bar with two stools available. Walked up, the bartender was the usual Disney friendly, ordered nachos, a drink, and now have to go back every time and we still dream of the sushi nachos!

Best restaurants??

Tiffins is by far the best restaurant...tusker House is pretty good for buffets.

The Landry’s restaurants are decent but way too inconsistent on quality.

For fast food...I agree on flame tree.

For us...it's Tiffins for TS and Flame Tree for QS...but we also didn't get get a chance to try Satu'li last trip, so that could change at some point down the road. I haven't eaten at Yak & Yeti (thought about it since we have a Landry's card...lots of local Landry's restaurants for us), I don't eat at RFC at Disney (we have local ones and not fans), and we've eaten at Tusker twice- gave it a second chance last trip- regret it. So, this is it for us and AK food experiences.

For Flame Tree, I'd be very happy with the pulled pork fries.

We all loved what we ate at Tiffins (minus the appetizer and entree my younger one had on the kids' menu), but I think my older daughter's swordfish was the best entree we ordered. I had the charcuterie for my appetizer and my younger one preferred that over her salad...so we'd give that high marks for ordering options. Every single one of our desserts was delicious. I had the passion fruit tapioca and it's one of the best desserts I've ever had.

This says it for me (although the passion fruit tapioca didn't do it for me!). I really like Tiffins for a nice sit-down meal with guaranteed seating for Rivers of Light. And I never miss those incredible ribs from Flame Tree.

While I loved it, I think my husband's chocolate ganache was the table favorite.

Yak and Yeti has both a TS and CS restaurant. I believe this person is talking about the counter service part of teh restaurant which does have outside seating. The seating for the TS is indoors.

We have enjoyed evening meal at Y&Y on a couple of trips now and look forward to it again.
The Flame Tree BBQ was great one time and then next time was so-so. Ribs were overcooked and chicken was undercooked. Nice atmosphere, a bit messy from birds, nice views.
For those who like the Rainforest the one at animal kingdom was great. May be time of evening but seemed less crowded than at DS. Liked the less hassle with security after dining.
Tuskers buffet also nice. Always had very personable servers there. Certainly great variety on the buffet.

There's a seated, indoor Yak and Yeti that requires reservations, and a quick service Yak and Yeti that's outside. Under the same name, it can be easy to confuse them. Please don't cancel your reservation! Both have amazing food.
