Best way to get view I want?

Hi there . . .

I'll be arriving on Memorial Day and leaving on Thursday, June 3rd... I'm staying in the Contemporary Tower and desperately want a Magic Kingdom view room... what are my chances and how do I go about ensuring that I get that?

Thanks in advance!

You might still have time to fax a request to the resort, but you should have made the request at the time of your reservation.

They are really good at trying to accomodate requests, so your chances are probably pretty good.

Enjoy your stay!

Thanks, Michelle! I actually did that on Monday, so hopefully I'll be accomodated. I've wanted to stay in the Contemporary ever since our first family trip to the Magic Kingdom when I was like 11 or 12 years old and now I can afford to. I'm going by myself - and can't wait to explore the new things since my last trip 10 years ago!

Make sure you casually ( :animwink: ) mention this while you are checking in. The CMs are really great about granting those special wishes whenever possible. Have a great trip & bring us back some pics.

Actually, I've already started a web site dedicated to my trip at http://www.sobitter.com. I'm a day behind in the pre-trip posting, but I'll get caught up tonight, probably. I plan to try to post stuff daily while I'm there, and then do a major trip report when I return.

If there's anything special I should do or see that isn't covered on all the major sites, in the Unofficial book, or the Frommer guide book, let me know.

I'm traveling alone, and am looking forward to meeting new people from all over while I'm there.

I was thinking about this some last week. Have there ever been any huge issues or problems with people who save up for years to come to WDW, and then stay in the Contemporary but don't know that not all of the rooms are in the tower and end up in one of the wings? I would be so disappointed if that happened to me when the whole intent of staying there and paying for that resort would be for the novelty of staying in the main building. Have there even been any instances of this happening? If so, how was it handled?

I guess that could be taken care of when making the reservations. We were asked if we wanted a tower room or garden wing...we took the garden wing (ended up in the North one) because our DD was just 4. We still plan on doing the tower one year...almost made it this time, but there wan't any rooms left once we decided. :(

Just curious, roughly how much does a MK view room cost? Nothing I can seriously consider now but maybe one day my daughter and I will save up to it for her HS graduation or something (that gives me 9 years...Okay maybe aim for my 40th bday..that gives me...14 years LOL). One can dream..........

On my past two trips, I've faxed a room request and gotton the exact things I've requested.

I feel weird bringing up my request to the CM when I check in b/c I don't want to be pushy, so this last time I wrote at the top of the confirmation papers "Jamaica" "2nd Floor" "non-smoking" so when I handed the paper to the CM they would probably see it.
