Best way to get from the Polynesian to MGM

I would prefer to not use the bus, but is there anyway to get there wihout a bus? Is there a boat?

Also - what about from the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Also - we have 8:00 breakfast reservations and the park open at 9:00, can we get to the park before 8:00 via Disney transportation?

Thanks!

Well, you could take the monorail to the TTC, switch monorails and go to Epcot, walk through FW and WS to the International Gateway, then take a boat to MGM, but it would really take you quite a while to do that!

Okay so I guess the bus is it.

There are some hotels that have a boat right? I swear at one point I took a boat there?

Where are the buses located at the Polynesian? I have only taken the monorail last time I was there.

Thanks!

Yacht/Beach Club/Boardwalk/Swan/Dolphin have a boat that connects these resorts with Epcot and MGM. The Poly has a boat that will take you to the MK (great ride at the end of the night when the monorail is overflowing). To reach the Poly bus stop, walk out of the Great Ceremonial House towards the parking lot and turn left. As you walk down the sidewalk you will reach the bus stops, covered and with ceiling fans and benches.

There are 3 bodies of water that have boat transportation - Seven Seas Lagoon/Bay Lake (MK Resort Area) and Crescent Lake (Epcot Resort area) - also the Downtown Disney area - and the 3 bodies of water are not connected (at least not for transportation purposes).

- MK Resort area:
1) 1 resort launch/boat runs from the MK to the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian and back again

2) there are the large ferries that run from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the MK and back

3) another resort launch/boat runs from the MK to the Wilderness Lodge and Ft Wilderness Campground area (they also have a boat loop that goes to the Contemporary)

- Epcot Resort area - boats run from the Epcot International Gateway to the Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club, Swan/Dolphin, and Disney Hollywood Studios

- Downtown Disney Resort area - Port Orleans has one set of boats that take you to Downtown Disney, Old Key West and Saratoga Springs have another

Just to complete my Disney transportation overview:

- the monorail has 3 loops:

1 - local/resort loop - makes stops at the MK, the Contemporary, the TTC, and the Polynesian (in that order).

2 - express loop - only stops at MK and TTC - runs in opposite direction of loop 1

3 - Epcot/TTC loop - connects the TTC to Epcot

All other locations are accessible via bus.

For busses at the Poly, go out the front (under the monorail) and turn left. There is a pavilion there with appropriate signage. Once you know where it is, depending on your room location, you could probably use a route without going through the ceremonial house.

As to your question regarding getting to AKL, you would need to go to a resort first then take a second bus to the lodge. For a breakfast appt., I would strongly suggest getting a taxi.

Boats....There are boats connecting Poly, GF, WL, Contemporary and the campgrounds. You can use that to go to MK or the other resorts mentioned.
Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach, Swan and Dolphin are on a boat loop with MGM and Epcot. POR, POFQ and Old Key West and Saratoga Springs have boats to DTD.

Breakfast reservations

When you arrive at the gate that morning, the CMs will have a list of pre-opening dining reservations. So, once the park has been cleared for opening they will let you in to get to the restaurant. Have fun!

Actually, the recommended way to get from one resort to another other than by car is to go to the closest park or to DTD. For the Polynesian, I guess that means catching the Monorail to MK, walking to the bus stop and catching the bus to AKL or catching a bus from the Poly to DTD and then transfering to AKL by bus from there. Not the easiest journey either way. The taxi suggestion is probably best and the cost is minimal especially if four or five people are going.

You are right, but as this is for an 8:00 AM breakfast res. I would not recommend taking that route. I'm afraid it would not be a good start to the day!

I am trying to remember do the busses start running an hour or one half hour before the park opens? that my be another deciding factor-the busses may not be able to get you there on time.

Hey they start at 7 AM, I would say direct bus to MGM is the best route
