"Best" is pretty much in the eye of the beholder. Each one of those is different and equally fun, but for far different reasons. It depends on your own personal taste - lazy rivers vs. thrilling slides, shade vs. sun, kid-friendly vs. adult, etc.)
I think TL v. BB must have more threads than any other topic, with the possible exception of POR v. POFQ.
Nemo is right: it comes down to individual preferences. For families with grade school kids I would recommend BB, b/c of the "Ski Patrol" area designed for them. Otherwise both parks have good toddler areas; both have more adventurous attractions for older kids, etc.
I say wright down both BB and typhoon on slips of paper, mix it up and pick one. I dont think you would be dissapointed with either. I love them both, BB has better thrill slides but typhoon has a more relaxing feel and crush and gusher is way cool.
Obviously I'm a big TL fan (see my avatar), but its up to what you want and when you go - keep in mind that TL is overall a lot shadier than BB or W&W - but those parks are a little edgier with their rides. Its too bad as the Mouse generally encourages you to pick one or the other on your Park Hopper tic.:hammer:
I've done both and I'm a TL fan myself. I like the atmosphere better and it seems less crowded than BB. I also love the Shark Pool and the wave pool is so much bigger than the one in BB. So there's my two cents. =]
When Aquatica opens it won't be a debate. This will be like traveling to another part of the world. Plus they will be restricting how many people come in so no waiting in line.
I'm interested to see if Aquatica turns out like Atlantis on Paradise Island, NAS, BAH. I was just there in May and was not as impressed as I thought I would be. Nice, yes. Worth 160 dollars for a day pass? No.
Because of Slush n Gusher, and the greater amount of trees (which means a greater amount of SHADE) I prefer TL. BB has Summet Plummet, which everyone should do...once. But the atomic wedgie that results isn't necessarily something I need to do again.
I haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon since I was 7, so I don't remember it very much. Nor have I ever been to Wet 'n' Wild. But I love Blizzard Beach, and I'm not sure how much better of a waterpark you're going to find than that. Summit Plummet is awesome!
I love both TL and BB. If I had to choose a favorite it would be Blizzard Beach. I'm still too scared to do Summit Plummet for fear of loosing my bathing suit.
Just a quick question. What are the slides like for slightly chunky/fluffy individuals? My friend wants to maybe go to one of the water parks next year. I (the fluffy person) am not quite sure if I would have a good time there or just relaxing at my own resort pool with a drink in my hand for the day?
I like Blizzard Beach's rides but hate the way the park is layed out so that after you get off a slide you have to continuously go up the same couple of stairs to get up the mountain or wait in line to take the chairlift!!
In 9 or 10 months when Aquatica opens I'll become my favorite if it's included in my Busch Platinum Pass!!
