oh yeah, second place are my blue quicksilver sandals. Comfy, broken in, and waterpark friendly (THEY FLOAT!)

I have a pair of Adidas that have not given my feet a single blister or bothered them in the least in the almost 2 years I've owned them. The sneakers I owned before these would bother my feet after just half a day. I can wear the Adidas all day and my feet don't even hurt the next day. Oh yeah... and they're mens's shoes because Adidas doesn't make black sneakers in women's sizes.

Consumer Report says New Balance 608's are the best walking shoes on the market.

I'm on my 2nd pair and Love them.

I Break them in with a walk around my local Mall a couple of times before my trip to Disney World.

I have tried many differant kinds of shoes in WDW and these seem to work best for me.

no hold everything....... i have had new balance for years and yes i agree they are great but honestly the best pair of walking shoes are...*drum roll* ECCO...... ever heard of them. they make sandals, walking shoes and golf shoes. they are lighter, and more airy than new balance and they are just all around great. honestly i had never heard of them then bout some and they are the best, but they are not for running and such cuz they arent made for it. but for walking round disney they are the best. the only bad thing about them is they cost alot bout $100 dollars for an average tennis shoe at an outlet mall. but they are worth it i swear. and if u cant find a store near u they do have one at the premium outlets in orlando near the mary queen of our universe catholic shrine. so ya take my advice new balance is nice but ECCO is better. and twice as much u never see a NB shoe going for $500 bucks u do see eccos though.

since this may, the best shoes that i rely on are my converse all-stars sneakers. ane even though i have 2 pairs of the all-stars, i often find myself wearing the black and blue sneakers more often than my red, white, and blue all-stars

I think that whatever shoes I have on at the time are the best shoes. But maybe I'm just biased.

(And Kevin, I definitely hold the record for "distance walking" at WDW. Trust me on that one.)

All Nike shoes are crap compared to the shox, They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever wore. I've tried Reebok, New Balance, and Adidas shoes but they don't compare. I have owned several pairs of the shox's and they all lasted for over 10 months minimum. Last trip I walked all four parks at disney in one day and my feet didn't even ache one bit with my lance armstrong shox's.

Skechers are comfortable, but I do not think you can beat anything by Nike. They just fit your foot so well. I wore K Swiss on this last trip to WDW and they were very comfortable. BTW, I recently heard that Keds for women are absolutely horrible for your arch. Since then, I do not let my child wear them so they do not ruin her feet.

All very good suggestions. Guess you all know what I'll be do this Saturday. I think my Nike cross-trainers are great for about town, but I just don't think they cut the mustard when it comes to long distance endurance walking.

I used to work for a Japanese sporting goods company, Mizuno, & had dozens of their running shoes (they were free) the Wave. I am currently wearing my last pair out on the treadmill. Mizuno makes great spikes, but not so much comfort in the running shoe dept.

I really like my Asics too! From day one my feet haven't hurt at all! I first tried shopping at a big sporting goods chain, and nobody helped me. I came very close to buying a $90 pair of sneakers there. So glad I didn't. Then I found a great local store - Metro Run & Walk (DC area). A sales clerk actually watched the way I walked and suggested the Asics. I HIGHLY suggest this approach, if you can find a store like this near you. They didn't try to sell me the most expensive brand either. Funny thing is - the woman who was just ahead of me in getting helped there, was also buying shoes to wear at Disney World!

I also really like my Clark's sandals. Before that I had a pair of sandals that I liked better, but they were an obscure German brand and the name wore off of the sole. Sure wish I could find another pair of those!

My wife and I bought some Avia's. I'll let you know how it works out. To date, the most comfortable pair I have owned is a pair of Adidas Running Shoes.

For sneeks I would have to say NB as well.

But for the best comfort get a pair of Rockport walking shoes. They may not be the most attractive but you can't beat them for comfort.

I have to agree with many here that New Balance is the best. I got some before a trip and they saved my feet. It was the best time I have had on a trip because my feet didn't hurt like before.

I must admit I have to agree with you (see my earlier post in this thread). As pilka214 has mentioned, Ecco shoes truly do provide your feet with outstanding support and cushioning and are as light as a feather. Ecco walkers are usually priced about 25%-30% more than walking shoes from Reebok and others but this premium is worth the comfort. I am willing to pay $100 for comfortable shoes rather than $75 for ones that I would wear perhaps twice and throw into the closet.

Gucci65, there is an Ecco store in the Premium Outlets up Rt. 400. Give 'em a try.

I think a few have posted ecco as their favorite. I personally have two pairs of their shoes and love them to death. However, for extensive walking my vote goes to New Balance. You are correct though about the quality in eccos. eccos are like butter!!
