Best Value Resort

We've stayed at All Star Music and Pop Century.
We preferred Pop.
It just seemed a little better organized and has it's own bus's.

Another vote for Pop. We have stayed there several times and always enjoyed it. I have to add that we have only stayed at All Star Movies once, and never at AoA. But I would stay at Pop again in a minute.

I've stayed at four of the five: Pop, AoA, Music, and Sports. The best resort for you really depends what you're looking for in a resort. Unless I want the larger space of a suite like at Art of Animation, or the themed pools, I almost always pick Pop. The amenities that matter most to me (transportation, location, food court) are basically the same for the two. The standard Little Mermaid rooms (non-suites) at AoA are almost always more expensive than standard Pop rooms and are (almost?) never discounted when the Passholder and general discounts are released. I have stayed at Music and Sports when I just needed a cheap place to stay for part of a split stay or for a one-night stay and they were fine, but the theming and dedicated buses of Pop make Pop the winner to me!

AoA is best, but the Little Mermaid Value section very far away from the food court and is the most expensive. Pop is our favorite and it's room are very similar to the Little Mermaid Value rooms. The only difference we could tell was the Little Mermaid rooms have USB ports built in to the TV/Dresser/Entertainment stand.

Our rankings would be:

1) Pop
2) AoA LM Section - would be ranked 1sst but prices are much higher than Pop (I've never seen LM rooms at any discount)
3) Movies - Better theme than other All-Stars
4) Music - Central located All-Star
5) Too Loud, but wouldn't hesitate to stay again, if it was the only Value available.

P.S. Don't believe the shared busing "rumors", as we have NEVER experienced shared busing at an All-Star!! It might happen (or have happened in the past), but it must be rare.

Little Mermaid rooms (almost) never discounted? I'm hoping someone will chime in with an example of a discount, as we have never see one yet!
And, have you ever had shared busing at an All-Star? Just curious as we NEVER have, and would like to know details.

P.S. Love your sig!!

I've heard that in the days of yore the LM rooms were discounted along with all the other rooms but they quickly proved popular enough to not need to be discounted.
I've stayed at All Stars three times (Music twice, Sports once) and all three times have experienced/seen shared buses.
And thanks! :)

I'm staying at the Pop next month (for one night), and I'm hoping it lives up to expectations. I've stayed at the All Stars Sports and Movies and they were very good.

We're staying at the Pop this September after doing a bit of research on the best value resort. Like many have said AOA seems to get the best reviews but is more expensive. Looking forward to it ...

What is the Best Value Resort to stay at when staying on Disney?

We have stayed at most of them and my favorite is All-Star Sports, even though I'm not sporty. I love that the bus comes to that resort first and it had everything we needed. They have movies under the stars, 2 huge pools, an arcade, a food court, a laundry room, and a gift shop!

If you need a room to sleep in and not much else then definitely go with All-Star Sports. For some strange reason WDW seems to always have Sports at $10/night cheaper than any other Value. Also, based on location, Sports seems to have the best busing of all values. 1st stop at the All-Stars and with a location that makes easy trips to AK and is also convenient for Epcot or HS. Rooms are clean, food court is nice, pools are cool, gift shop sells gifts. Only place I ever stay at WDW anymore.

AoA is nice, but the prices are high for a value. Not surprising since they're geared for families in mind, even moreso than other values.
