Best "unique" QS restaurants

Hello again....I know when us Disney people do our planning we normally think about what TS meals we want, but I find (at least in our case) that QS's get overlooked. The result of this is that we end up going to whatever is nearby which normally means we end up with either burgers or pizza. So this year we're starting to put some thought into QSR's we'd like to try. Does anyone have any good QSRs they've been to that are a bit different from the "norm". I'm imagining EPCOT has a lot (one thing we're talking about maybe doing is going around WS and hitting a few different country's QSRs and sharing a meal at each one to try a few different countries on one day). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Exactly the suggestions I was going to make Hatter!! Very good choices!!!
Yeh, the first time we went we were so unprepared about where or what to eat,it was burgers and dogs and fries. But they are really good choices now,we love sitting upstairs at CHH just chilling out and people watching from the window overlooking haunted, and this year there doing a salmon dish and a lobster roll.yummy.:)

As far as I know you tickle them with a feather and they turn over onto their backs and that's how a lobster rolls.:eek:sorry,I can't help myself,I've yet to try one as there just new,but will do so in July and let you know.:)
LMAO!!!! Thank you .... DH had the lobster roll during Food and Wine and loved them, 2 yrs ago, but I was told that the one at CHH was not nearly as good. Looking forward to your thoughts on the one at CHH :)

Tangierine Cafe in Morocco is definitely worth trying. DW and I always get something from there to share.
MK-CHH- They have an awesome tuna sandwich and a great hummus sandwich with broccoli slaw.

It's sadly not. Though I guess everyone's opinion is a bit subjective. Bu I'd honestly recommend he try something other than the lobster roll...I think CHH has other better offerings. Their tuna sandwich is really good

that's what I had my eye on, the tuna sandwich, which I'm a major fan!! (as long as it's white tuna)

Obviously, lots of option in Epcot. We really like Sunshine Seasons, but there are also sooooo many options in the World Showcase.

When in MK, we like Columbia Harbor House, but also enjoy Pecos Bill's for the setting and toppings bar (I know, still a burger, but they do have non-burger options too) and Casey's is a big fave as well...something about getting a hot dog, sitting down, and just soaking in the castle.

At AK, we liked Flame Tree a lot. The bbq was a nice change and the outdoor setting (at least in the area where we sat) made it feel like some exotic cafe.

At DHS the options are a little more hit or miss...while the kids love the Pizza Planet atmosphere, it's pizza. Starring Rolls was an instant fave last trip. Starring rolls has some nice sandwich options and sushi + CUPCAKES! We really like how the setting there also kind of takes you away from the park a bit even though it's really in the thick of things. Fairfax Fare offers more unique options (chk out Allears for menu info), but I haven't tried it.

Several of the resorts have decent QS. We've tried the ones in the MK area and were pretty happy with the variety. Roaring Fork (still trying to replicate the cucumber salad) was our fave and Contempo probably the least fave.

I really love Captain Cook's at the Poly! Great sandwiches and homemade chips, plus a Dole Whip machine! Also as someone else mentioned earlier, the Mexican QS was delicious! I got the cheese empanada's with green sauce and I was surprised at how much I liked it. Flame Tree barbecue is a good option if you want to get away from pizza and burgers. The food is great and the portions were pretty big too. All this talk about good food is making me "home sick" lol! I can't wait till September 29th!

My brother and I have developed some serious fast favorites when it comes to QS restaurants at WDW. For those that are willing and wanting to be more adventurous (as adventurous as you can be with foods,) try these:

@ Animal Kingdom: Pizzafari, but for breakfast. My bro and I always head over to AK for early EMH and end up here for our post-Everest snack, 1) because it's pretty much the only QS place open at 8am, and 2) because the spinach and goat cheese frittata is quick and YUMMY. Seriously a delish alternative to a bagel or muffin on an EMH-morning.

@ Epcot: You can't really go wrong at any of the countries, but we've taken a liking to Japan because of the mere lightness of it. I don't love going fried or heavy when I'm walking around in FL heat all day, so this is really perfect. They have things like salad with chicken on top but the best discovery I've made there was the Japanese veggie pancake drizzled with sweet and tart sauces that recently popped up on the menu. I forget the name, but it's great--and you can get iced green tea to walk around the park with! Winning!

@ Magic Kingdom: Turkey legs. But those are kind of standard. So if you're looking for quick and delicious and off-beat, go and get waffle sammies at Sleepy Hollow. So delicious.

@ MGM: I'm not reaaaally fan of the QS options here, but if you're desperate for lunch at this park, go for Starring Rolls. The sandwiches are hearty and the sides are good!
