I will be going to WDW this November. I'm starting to plan it all out. I was just wondering what, in your opinion, is the best travel guide available?

I misunderstood what you wrote, deleted previous.

Birnaums is a good book. What kind of info are you looking for. Also i'd say this site is a great travel guide!

yeah honestly I'd say the people on the forums seem to know tons, and this community is free, unlike many guides. I think there's even a subprime somewhere just for trip planning right? (I think it's a good time to point out I'm not one of those here that know tons) I will say I did think that an app that has the all the menus is rather helpful. (especially I you don't want to use Internet while looking for food. it also helps in general to ensure everyone in your group has something they can eat and enjoy at the various restaurants so you don't find out once your already seated)

First go to allears for the menus and prices. Also check out mousesavers. Both have tons of info.
My favorite books were Passporter and Birnbaums. They are more concise than the Unofficial Guide.
Many prefer the UG. Go to a bookstore like Barnes & Noble and look through all three and decide which one you like best.

The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 20xx (2013 right now) is the most informative book for planning. It will tell you (in its 800+ pages) almost everything you need to know and then some. It's the Disney Planning Bible, IMO. You can use it as a reference book and not slog through all of it...but it's well-written. I have read all of it and not been bored out of my skull. Seriously.

Birnbaum's Official Guide is Disney's book. It has very little planning advice and some of what it does have is just wrong. But it has very peppy descriptions of the rides and shows. It is brightly colored with loads of character clip art and nice pictures. The pages are smooth and shiny. It's the best "fun" book.

The Unofficial Guide people have a "color companion" that doesn't have all the info of the big book, but has a good amount of the best info, lots of color, shiny pages and nice pics. It's funny, too. If you don't want to buy the 800 pager AND the Birnbaum book, this is an excellent blend of the two and the one I'm now advising friends to get. :)

The Passporter lacks all the info of the Unofficial Guide and is not as fun and peppy as either of the color books. I don't think it's all that great.

The Complete Guide is more for Disney fans than Disney planners. I like the book, but I wouldn't buy it to help me plan a trip.

Favorite Book - Officially the Passporter - #1 in my eyes. Favorite sites to help with planning? touringplans.com - mousesavers.com - allears.net - disneyworld.com - wdwinfo.com ....to name a few LOL they are tons out there. These are all my faves though for planning, information and knowledge. AND of course wdwmagic.com! :D There are more people on here with more knowledge that can pretty much answer any question..then I have ever seen or heard of anywhere else.

My favorite is The Complete Walt Disney World... but shoot, its almost April and 2013's book still isn't released. They take FOREVER to release a book!

I have to agree the Unofficial guide the full version 850ish pages is the best. Also order the vacation planning DVD from Disney it free and will show you a lot of the parks, reorts and some restaurants.
