Early June would be your best shot at low crowds.

Agreed. Go the first week of June. Crowds start to pick up by the second week and continue to get worse. We were there the first week of June 2010 and it was not bad. After a few days at WDW we went on a 4 day cruise and then came back to WDW and the crowds were soooo much worse than they had been before our cruise.

I've gone August 1st for usually a week for the past 3 years and the crowds have never been that bad and the weather is usually very nice with the occasional storm here and there.

I have cousins that are teachers. They have the same problem you do, that they are only allowed to vacation when kids are also on vacation. Last year they drove down for February Vacation Week (President Day week) and said it wasn't as bad as they thought. If summer is really you're only option the later in August the better, just know the it will be HOT

Based on your options I would also go with early June. We just got back, Aug 10-21. It was way more crowded than I was expecting. I will probably push our August dates a little later if and when we do it again.

June 1st.

I do not want to go during the Summer, but may be relegated to do so. One thing you could do to get away from crowds is spend some time at WDW, then spend 1-2 nights at US. The crowds when we were there June 16th-June 20th were non-existent. We walked on almost everything (with the resort pass).

We are in the same scenario as you... DH is a school teacher.
We have been in early June & mid/late Aug.
Minimal pros & cons to each month ...
Both times have always worked for us ... find the dates with the best deals/discounts & enjoy

AVOID JULY!!!!

I'm also a teacher. We went in July '10 and the crowds were no where near as bad as we thought. This year we went in April and the crowds were crazy.

From here on out we're sticking to mid-July. The heat and crowds were do-able for us and its more important for me to put my vacation in the middle of summer vacation. My point is any time during the summer won't be so bad.

Out of all of your choices I would go with August 20. Florida schools are back in session and the crowds drop. The temps can be quite warm though this time of year and you will deal with the afternoon thunderstorm. I see many have said June, but it will much more crowded that week because of Star Wars Weekends, also it should be the last weekend of Flower and Garden festival in Epcot and that is also about the time that Gay Days happens at WDW. You can look up all of those events just to make sure when they are when they are finally announced.

The only reason I would recommend the June 1st week is if you wanted to see the events that are scheduled at that time. If you want lesser crowds then the August 20th week is your time to go.
