Which Hoop Dee Doo performance should we go for? Which one is least crowded? 4:00, 6:15, or 8:30?

What time of year are you going? In my experience for the last 10 or 15 years or so almost every show is booked. I tend to book the time when I would most want to eat dinner. Side note - Of the 3 seating categories, you get the most bang for your buck in the mid tier or category 2 level.

The 6:15 showing has unlimited beer. 'Nuff said. :)

I believe all the shows have unlimited beer, wine, and sangria. Personally, I would highly recommend the sangria and I'm usually a beer guy. I'm tagging @Master Yoda , cuz he's somewhat of a local and I know he's been to the show a few times before (if my memory is correct).

Yep, been a few times. I have always gone to the late show because I got a discount with the TIWL card. Unless things have changed, all shows get unlimited beer and sangria.

Yes, they all do. I was doing a joke(?).

Every time is great though, it just depends what the rest of your plans for the day/evening are.

IMHO - professional actors/cooks/waiters, you'll get the same experience no matter the time!

We've been a few times before as well, but we always went to the latest show. However, that one was always packed outside before the show started.

I guess if they are all packed then it doesn't matter. We'll probably go for the 6:15 show.

Thank you all for your replies. :D

The show does sell out pretty frequently and all things being equal, you want a packed house. There is no real downside to a sell out at Hoop, but a sparse crowd just does not have the energy that a packed one does.

Sorry I didn't know you were joking. I've seen some really weird comments that were jokes and some that were serious. Lord knows, I've been misinterpreted a few times myself!

My mistake! I should have just been helpful.

The innuendo and ad-libs are a little bit closer to the line at the 8:30 show. The envelope gets pushed just a tad bit more.

The old 9:30 show (may it rest in peace!) was like an after hours event.

Yes you do! The 8:30 show is always the least busy (and only sells out during busy seasons). It's also the performance cast members frequently attend.

The last show is almost always the least crowded. I like the Cat 3 seating and have often been moved from Cat 3 to Cat 2 for the last show because the place just wasn't full enough to have people upstairs.

I usually buy tickets close to or on the day I go. Having all the shows sold out has only happened to me once.

When would be closer to your normal dinner time? In my experience, if you're too far away from your regular routine, you tend to be grumpy, especially if you've waited until late to eat. And even if you snack, your body is screaming, "FOOD! NOW!" It can interfere with your enjoyment, even of the show.

We once went to the later show and there were maybe 5-10 other families there. But we were so exhausted eating that late (this was back when I believe it was for a 9ish dinner time?). I would think the 6:15pm show would be the most crowded. But it also depends on when during the year you go as well.
