Hey everyone,
I need some help! My high school art club is going to go to Disney World in May 2003 (17-20th to be exact). The day that we arrive, we will be arriving around noon, and plan to get to the resort (Carribean Beach) at around two. The next day, we have an art class with YES (youth education series at The Disney Institute)...but the rest of the time there we have to ourselves to wander and enjoy any park (we have a four day hopper). The only other info: the day we leave, we must depart the hotel at around 1, and the first day we are there we have a dinner at Rainforest Cafe. Now the question...
HOW DO I SPEND MY TIME TO GET THE BEST OF DISNEY?!
I know three days isn't a lot, so I need to know what to do. I have been there numerous times before, staying at minimum for a week at a time. But this time crunch has really got me nervos! ANY SUGGESTIONS?:veryconfu

I would say figure out the things you have to do in the parks and then things you would like to do. Basicly tell yourself would I be mad if I didn't do this. This is what I do when my fam or friends come visit me for a few days. That time in May the crowds should not be that bad but because it is a weekend you will prob have enough people in the parks to encounter a few lines.

Other than that have fun and don't stress if you dont get to do everything.

BTW I love your sig. Gotta love Rent.

1) Draw up a list of rides and attraction that you want to do.
2) Place them into the four parks
3) Prioritise the order that you must do them in ( or the easiest order to do them in as you travel around the parks )
4) Run like h*ll between rides and park hop until you're dizzy !!!!

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Hmmmmm... Three days.. well.... Do the MK, Studios, and Epcot.... and skip AK all together  :snore: ;)

I suggest you just take you time and enjoy yourself. Don't run around trying to hit everything. Your trip will just go by faster.

Seperate from the rest of the group and run like hell!!! :D

Really thats what I would do but I know the parks inside and out so that may not be practical for you. :(

Sound advice...except that you shouldn't have to be in that much of a hurry if you pre-plan.

Don't Plan too Much - Leave time for FUN

I assume this is your first visit?????? I agree with omit AK. It si a good idea to plan ahead. And to a certain extent - if you plan you shouldn't be in a hurry BUT remember that there will be thousands of people that will be trying to mess up your plans - some on purpose others by accident - and don't forget Murphy's Law. In any event too much planning can make the trip seem like a series of unconnected and not so fun activities. I say plan for the big stuff, like:
MK: Space Mountain (cause you just gotta do it), Pirates of Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Alien Encounter, Peter Pan, and Haunted Mansion and Buzz Lightyear (no it's not just for little kids)
Epcot: Test Track, Maelstrom (in Norway) and the American Adventure (the movie in America), and Journey to Imagination
MGM: Tower of Terror, Rock-n-Roller Coaster, Indiana Jones, and don't miss Beauty and the Beast stage show
After these "must-dos" - just walk around and take it all in - do whatever strikes your fancy at the moment.

Get your fast passes as soon as you get to each park @ MK get Space Mountain or Buzz Lightyear first @ Epcot get Test Track first @ MGM get Rock-n-Rollercoaster first. One more thing about the parks - you might pick a place you would like to eat (suggestions - MK- Tomorrowland Terrace, if you eat a late dinner you can sit on the terrace right under Tinkerbell as she spreads pixie dust before the fireworks - get there about 1 hour before fireworks time, order your food and enjoy the show, @ MGM - Prime Time Cafe, and @ Epcot the snack bar in Mexico or if you want the restaurant inside Mexico is cool - you should go in anyway)

Make a plan of how you will "wander" through each park - with the exception of your fast pass times stick to your plan (for example at MK walk down Main Street head to Tommorowland then walk around the park counterclockwise or take a right and head for Adventureland and walk around clockwise - this way you're not zig-zagging across the parks, do this for each park)

i wouldn't suggest skipping AK, i really like that park. You should visit that in the morning (get there before it opens), ride Kiliminjaro Safaris first (lines will get long). Then ride the other major attractions like Kali River rapids, Its a bugs life, dinosaur, Primeival Whirl etc...AK only requires half a day if you're in a rush. Have lunch there then head over to MGM Studios or epcot and spend a half day there. Magic kingdom requires most of a day. Test track gets very busy, so i suggest using the singles line or getting a fastpass, other than that, most other rides are walk on.

I have to agree with all of this. It's just what I would do in a situation like this. I went on the 3-Day Land & 4-Day Sea Disney Cruise Line Vacation, so I had to plan something like this too.:)

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the tips. Actually, I have been to Disney World 4 times before...a week each time. So we did get a great sampling of everything...the problem is I know I have to omit things...and what to omit is the problem. Well, I have ordered Birmbaum's Disney World 2003. So maybe that will be a help. Oh by the way, the last time I went was in 98 or so, and they didn't have fastpass. How does this work? Is it a good alternative to waiting in line? Once you get your ticket are the lines always much shorter for those with tickets? Thanks so far for all of you input!:)
