Best Strategy for Flight of Avatar for Offsite Guest on EMH Day

For a variety of reasons, the only day we can visit AK during our visit is on an EMH day. What is the best strategy for Flight of the Avatar? A related question: Are offsite guests permitted to enter the park prior to the official open time? I know you can't ride the rides, but I'm trying to understand what time you can enter the park and head toward the first ride. Also, when can offsite guests being queuing for rides?

I appreciate any and all responses, but would certainly welcome a response from someone in similar circumstances who recently was in this situation. Thanks in advance.

If you are allowed into the park early you will be held at Discovery Island until the end of EMH.

Your best bet for FoP is to jump into the line at the end of the day, say 30 minutes or even later before park close. The wait time will be less than the posted time.

My wife and I got lucky and a FP popped up for 3-4 after our 3rd FP for the day. I would just keep checking the app during your down time and you might get lucky.

Wow, that was lucky! Do you know what the standby lines were like that day or if it was an EMH day? Thanks for the reply.

On a related note, for an off site guest on a NOT EMH day, if we get there about 45 minutes prior to park open and head towards Pandora, are we in pretty good shape to get on in a reasonable amount of time?

I would try for an hour before if possible. They usually start letting guests into the park to wait at Discovery Island around 30 minutes before park opening.

Nighttime is your best best. Pandora is beautiful at night and Animal Kingdom as a whole just doesn't draw in the nighttime crowds like the other 3 parks. I waited 120 minutes last February in the middle of the day and the queue kept moving which made it seem not too long.
