I started a thread about the best current show scenes at WDW a few months ago, but I was thinking today what the best extinct show scenes would be. Would love to hear your opinions and if possible would love to see some video or pictures of the show scene since we are talking about extinct attractions.

Mine would have to be the "easy living" show scene from Horizons where the robots are doing everything from vaccuming to washing dishes. I love that show scene along many others from Horizons and other extinct attractions. I would love to hear what some of your old favorite show scenes are.

The show scene I am talking about starts at 6:05 mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJNSCjahErI

Horizons - the scene with the young boy and his seal friend

Imagination - in the beginning with Dreamfinder, when a puff of smoke comes out from the left side and goes through the flying machine

20K - anytime there were bubbles coming across the windows. I think that would happen when there was a depth change

Toads - the train at the end

Wings - the flamingo part and the taking off on the runway

Couldn't agree more. People that never got to ride Horizons just don't understand how great it really was.

I agree on the scuba class scene from Horizons, though my favorite part of 20,000 leagues were the sharks orbiting the sunken ruins.

It was just a tiny little diorama, but I always liked the Japan scene from Dreamlfight.

My favorite though would have to be the first room of Native Mexican dancer screens in El Rio Del Tiempo before the Donald Duck overlay ruined them.

A few more favorites:

-Veggie-Veggie Fruit-Fruit from Kitchen Kabaret
-The sailor looking through a telescope into the eye of a dragon/sea monster looking right back in World of Motion.
-The spiral incline of World of Motion.
-The mice running through the audience scene in HITSA.
-The Universe of Energy song played during the finale of the original attraction.
-"Tomorrow's Child" played at the end of the original SSE.
-The cross-eyed sea monster in 20K.

Oh yeah, the spiral part of World of Motion. Now you speed past that area at 65 mph! :). The cop behind the billboard is a classic scene from there. They should include it in a refurb of test track.

Rotating screens in Universe of Energy for the win!

- 'Smell the Oranges' in Horizons

- The first 14:45 minutes of Horizons

- 'Blue City of the Future' in World of Motion. WoM was mostly whimsical, but this scene was sheer lyricism. It was huge, everything moved, all those blue moving lights. It's near impossible to capture properly on film from a moiving vehicle, so the greatness of it may be lost forever.

- The 'scary room' in Imagination.
Help!

- The Radok cubes at UoE.
Come on Disney, don't be Universal- give us artistry like this again!

- The two songs at UoE.
Epic and awesome.

MK:

- The Train scene from Toad -> to hell with you!: :fork:

- Steamboat Willy at the MS Cinema
So cool to see Steamboat Willy together with three other movies from the same era.

- Speed room at If You Had Wings
I've done this ride with my sister so much. Never got old!

A classic Disney show scene. I loved that ride along with Horizons. I almost forgot how about any part of the Skyway!? It was just so unique to get a view of the MK from above.

Always liked the 20k view...was always hoping to get a blue cab and liked when going from fantasyland to tomorrow, the decline part and turn...if my more than 20 yr old memories of it is correct.

I agree, I've never seen a video that showed anything near what it was like in person

I don't know if this counts as part of an attraction or a gift shop, but I miss the crashed speeder bike that used to sit on Anne Tryba's Endor Vendor's sign outside of Star Tours.
That, combined with the shield generator base blast door made the whole exit area a show scene in and of itself.

Yes the decline and turn was great. It was right at the edge of the Speedway and I remember always waving or saying hello to the cast member that would work that little area all by themself. Man I miss the old classics! I'm not sure anyone mentioned it since it is still an attraction, but the original backlot tour was great and I loved the part when you went by the neighborhood and the house where they shot the golden girls or whatever. I liked pretty much every part of the Backlot Tour that is gone now.
