Hi,

Heading down to WDW, next week (Thurs.) and trying to figure out a good area to request a room at the CBR?

We didn't get a preferred room this time and just wondering if anyone had some suggestions??
(oh, me, DH and 2 little ones 6 and 3)

Thanks for any feed back.

I love all of the rooms at CBR! That's my favorite hotel!

I'm not sure if you can request a certain area or not...but I think the resort as a whole is beautiful!

Yes, you can request an island by calling within a week of your arrival date and the CMS will do their absolute best to get you your preference.

We even go as far as to picking a precise room at CBR.

I would highly reccommend a water front room in Aruba, even more specific 5256--5261. Those rooms are second story rooms overlooking the lake. The view of the lake is unobstructed. (Many "lake view" rooms actually look at the backside of palm trees--but rest assured that these have little to NO trees blocking--trust me I did the research.) I do not think you can do wrong in that general vicinity. And, fyi, 5256 and 5257 are corner rooms, overlooking the lake (and sand beach) and quiet pool b/c they have the double windows. A great area. Also, Aruba 52 building is smoke free.

Hope I could help!

Just note that Water View, King Rooms, and Preferred Rooms (3 buildings in Martinique and 3 in Trinidad South??) do cost more.

Just because you tell your travel agent, you'd like a king bed, make sure you're paying for it.

At Port Orleans, you get a lot of :

"I told my TA I wanted a King Bed".

"I'm sorry maam. It appears you paid for a standard room with a request for a king room. If you would like a king room, it will be $15 more per night."

Same conversation goes for water view rooms.

Stayed at CBR 5 times...I like to request Jamaica (building 45, in particular)...it has the shortest walk to the feature pool, Port Royale and transportation. Aruba, building 51 is a similar spot...both are right across the bridge.

Totally agree with Jamaica 45 building and Aruba 51 building. BEST locations. The only problem with the 51 building is that it is a smoking building (was not in 1988). We stayed in 5153 one year and it had a premier view. We went the next year and was told the building was designated as smoking, we still stayed in the room, but had to request to leave b/c the smoke was imprinted in all of the fabrics. Ugh.

So now he stay in Aruba 52, as I mentioned in my above post with some specifics for a great view.

Interesting. I was not aware that Jamaica 45 was a smoking building. The last time I stayed at CBR was July 2003, and it was in bldg. 44. No trace of smoke in the rooms I had in that bldg..
