Just got to do it on our trip. Having been a Splash lover, I was keeping my comments in check after reading others reviews until I had the chance to ride it. I cant believe how disappointed I was after doing it. Nothing from the music, animatronics, story, and characters were upb to par of what Splash gave us. Thankfully the drop was the same, which is the only saving grace to the attraction.
It sucks. I also got super wet, which I never did on Splash. Did you?

on my recent trip in September . jungle cruise was closed for refurb. i was surprised how much i missed it :( even if it was for the dad jokes.
decent length, funny and the joke generally change every time you go as the captains change.

Yes DS and I got pretty wet and we were not sitting in front. On Splash, sometimes I did and sometimes not depending on where I was situated in the log and how full the channel was. I was told by a CM that the water level varies.
Living with the land. Not a joke, genuinely would rope drop it everytime
Hmmm, rope dropping Living with the Land? Wouldnt be my choice, there are a few other attractions that Id think more valuable to target at rope drop.

So all I am hearing about Tiana is just how inferior it is to Splash. I predicted this from the get go because you simply can't replace a beloved attraction that is among the most popular ever built. It is like doing a remake of "Jaws" or "The Godfather". Without even seeing the movie we know it is going to be worse than the original. I am wondering someday if people get a hold of themselves and there is a cycle of common sense if they'll bring Splash back just because it was so great. It is too bad they couldn't replicate that magic of Splash. What a horrible idea this was from the word go.

Disney will never "bring back" Splash because the main reason they condemned it was to remove any and all Song of the South references from their media empire.

Yeah I know, that's even more disappointing. I follow Floyd Norman on social media. He posts a lot of neat stuff, just the type of stuff you'd expect a former Disney animator would post. Recently he posted the tar baby scene from Song of the South and noted how disappointed he was that such a great movie is being shelved for no reason. The ones who complained the loudest won. But in reality no one won, we lost a heck of a ride.

It's a lie because they never got rid of Splash in Japan. If there was real outrage and reason to remove it from the face of the Earth, it'd be gone there too.

The best ride was Alien encounter and would still be the best ride today if Disney din't get rid of it for stitch which sucked
Though I wouldn't necessarily say the #1 best, it was definitely among the best - and indeed, IMHO, among the best attractions in Disney history. It was such an under-appreciated masterpiece. One of my best Disney memories is doing AE with my dad when I was a kid just after it opened, and we both looked at each other after like "holy moly!"

If it had gone in Disneyland Park as originally planned, it might have remained to this day (rather than receiving so many complaints). Or even if it had gone in DHS or EPCOT...

Another possibility, though... take your quote, replace "Alien Encounter" with "Splash Mountain," replace "Stitch" with "Tiana's Bayou Adventure"...

Ok, Big thunder is pants at the front, great at the back, ill go with Tron, not the longest, but love the lift off and theming, and the light cycle is cool position to ride IMO, hard to have fav one, i rode Space this weekend gone, loved it still, Jingle cruise was a let down , prob the worst queue in all M.K if you don't have a LL, sorry going off piste here, ill stick with Tron .

The Bayou Adventure re-theme is awful.
Its a funny one for sure, the Animatronics are ace , but the story has no real get go, i mean surely the voodoo fella should of sent you to the drop, there was a suspense with S.M, didnt feel that with T.B.A, I did hear the the likes of Mr Iger said it was boring when he rode it, and i kinda agree, visually superb, but story not so much. Still liked the drop though, thats still fun.

I just realized I never actually said my favorite ride. PeopleMover! Love going on a relaxing ride through tomorrowland and love the kinetic energy it brings to the land and being able to go through (almost) all the rides in the land. If only they would refurbish it to make the track smoother.

Hmm, for me, many of these rides are not really directly comparable to each other. If I was forced to choose one "best" ride from among these, I couldn't because I like them all for different reasons. It would have made more sense to list only coaster rides (SM, BTMR, 7DMT, TRON), or just water rides (POTC, Tiana, Small World). HM is really in a class by itself although I suppose you could compare it to other "dark rides" but it would win that contest hands down. For sheer thrills, I'd vote TRON. I have yet to ride the re-made Spash Mtn ride, but think I'm going to be disappointed as I've watched a few ride videos and from that I feel they really missed the boat. The movie itself provided all the elements they needed to incorporate into the ride. They could have used the last ramp to build tension to the big drop by incorporating Dr. Facilier telling guests he's waiting for them on "The other side!" But no, it's just happy-happy, joy-joy. LOL!

The best animatronics on the ride are the A-1000s for Tiana, Louis, and Mama Odie. God, a Facilier A-1000 would be peak.

Plenty of people don't want Splash back. I get that you are personally disappointed, but it's gone, and it's going to stay gone. No one of course is telling you you must enjoy what replaced it, but just let those who're enjoying it enjoy it, miss the old ride, and let the new one go.

I think more people want Splash to return in some shape or form than those that are happy it's gone. Personally, I'd LOVE for it to return but what's done is done and Disney is never going to walk back on their decision.

Most Disney fans never wanted it gone in the first place. You can tell simply by reading these boards and by remembering how long the lines were. It was a mistake to get rid of it, why are people so stubborn to admit this?
