Best Resort?

So... I've been to WDW about a million times, but for some reason I've never stayed in an on-site hotel. We've stayed at a lot of hotels over nead Downtown Disney, the most recent being the Hyatt there, but we've never stayed at a Disney Hotel.
This year, some friends of mine and I are thinking about taking a trip to the F&WF at Epcot and staying a two days and one night at an on-site hotel.
Also, I'll be going to Disney for three days and two nights with my folks in December.
My question is, which hotel should I stay in? Which hotel is the best and which hotel is the best value?

Since there are 20 Resorts to choose from, I would say it depends on your tastes, what park you spend most of your time in, and if you would like a value , moderate or a deluxe resort. If you want more help on this, you can contact me and I will help you find a Resort that best suits you and your parents. I am a Disney Specialist (graduate of the college of disney knowledge)Travel Consultant/Agent. If you need any help, please ask. you can PM me or e-mail or call my toll free #.

Hiya jrashadb

From reading your previous posts, I've deducted that you're an Epcot fan.(just call me Sherlock Holmes:lol: ) Anywho.....If Epcot is your favorite park, try staying at one of the Epcot resorts, if you can swing it money-wise. The Y&BC is really nice, and I'm a Yachtsman Steakhouse fan which makes me like Y&BC even more, and The Boardwalk is beautiful, with lots of things to do after the parks close. Whatever you decide, have fun...and if you need one more person to go, I'm always available.:animwink: :D

Cheers:wave:

The best Deluxe Resort - Tie between The Wilderness Lodge and the Grand Floridian (depends on what you like)

The best Moderate Resort - Tie between Coronado Springs (cool pool) and Dixie Landings (Now PO:Riverside). Again, it depends on what you like.

The best DVC Resort - The Wilderness Lodge, or OKW if you want to get away from it all and get the Grand Villa.

The best Value Resort - Pick any one. They are all the same.

Without a doubt, I would have to say my favorite resort is AKL. I can't help but get blown away by the majestic atmosphere of the whole place.

Like the previous posts, it depends on how much you want to pay. My two favorite are the Poly and the Beach Club. If you do decide to stay at the Poly, I would suggest requesting a room in the Rapa Nui building. It's right next to the TTC so you can quickly get on a monorail to Epcot or MK and have tons of bus transportation.

If you are going to the F&WF, then I would suggest the Beach Club, you are literally steps away from the World Showcase. It is an incredible hotel!!! Enjoy! We leave the day the F&WF starts:cry:

Wow, thanks a lot everybody! I really appreciate all your help.
Tp clarify, for the F&WF, I really wanted to stay at a resort near Epcot and yes, SnowWhite, we were thinking about the BEach Club. I need to check the prices on that. Whether we can afford a moderate of Deluxe hotel for the Festival depends largely on how many people we have going. Unfortunately, that's not set in stone yet. The last thing I want to do is reserve a $300+ room now and find out later I'll be sharing it with one person. I'm lucky. I'm a passholder, so I won't have to pay to get in that day, but my friends will. I don't think anyone would be happy with putting an extra 100-150 on the room for a night.
As for the December trip, my folks and I will be there for a couple of days and wereally don't need a resort with all the amenities. We're only going to be there for the weekend and we're mostly going to be in the parks. But... I want us to stay somewhere cool... like, a rreally nice moderate resort. Which is the best moderate resort? I saw mickeyfanatics suggested Riverside and I was thinking that one too... hmm...
I guess what I want is a nice room with really, really good theming inthe hotel. I want to know I'm on WDW property, you know?

IMHO POR is the best moderate. It is the best themed also. Disney really did a good job here. I love walking around the pathways with the differant leaves imprinted in them. And at Christmas time, they put up wreaths, garland and a big tree in the lobby with nice southern accents like magnolia blossoms.
(the candy apples are the best!)

December trip I am throwing my vote with Kingdom Konsultant. PO Riverside I loved. There was a thread on here recently that some one had a pretty awful experience with the resort, but I just stayed there in May and I rebooked it for October!!!! I guess I Am not a tough cookie to please!! I thought the theming was astounding. I loved the walk in the morning over to the main building for breakfast. I felt like I was walking along the banks of a small Mississippi!! Very calming, relaxing, laid back kind of place. Boatwright's the full service restaurant was EXCELLENT for breakfast. Great coffee from those of my party that are so inclined. I drink tea, so I have no opinion there. The food was great though. Have some Banana Stuffed French Toast for me if you go there. Actually depending on when you go, I may be sitting in Boatwrights with you one morning. I am going to be there the first week in December. Whichever resort you do decide to go to Id advise calling soon as they are booking VERY quickly. Go to the Disneyworld website for a discount code. I also posted it on another thread on here too. Good luck. Any questions on any moderate I can answer as I have stayed at all 4 of them!!! Anything I can help with give a shout! Belle

ive said this before and i am saying it again, the poly is the best resort for a combination of reasons. It is easy to get to all the parks from this resort. It has great family restaurants. It has beach assessability. It has a dinner show on site. You can reach gf and contemporary easily for sight seeing and other dinner options. Its landscaping is fabulous. Its pool is great for kids of all ages.

Hey there!! Yup I did mention a discount code. To get the one I found, go to Disneyworld.com and there is a reddish color box on the left hand side of your screen. Click that and read all the little people print. There should be a letter code BBN I think if I am remembering it correctly but dont quote me on the letters. Another GREAT resource for discount codes is on Mousesavers.com. She actually lists her codes in groups as to who can use them for example some codes are only for Passholders, some are for AAA members, etc. Let me know if you have any problems finding these codes and Ill go back in and dig them up. OK I went digging around and found where i had posted the info. I cant stress enough though CALL NOW!!!!! Do not wait for a better deal or whatever!! These codes tend to sell out quickly!! Good luck!!
Hey All, I just pulled this off the Disneyworld website. For this
particular discount, you dont need to be a Disney Club member. However
as they are so fond of saying there may be more of the packages
available for club members than non-club members. I have found that that
time of year is getting VERY tight!!! If you want to get in on all the
holiday hoopla, Id say to book soon!! Belle

I don't think you can go wrong with any resort at WDW. For me, the biggest question is location for what I want to accomplish on that particular trip. If I had only one to pick - it would be the Grand Floridian.
