Best place to watch the Super Bowl in Disney World?

I think my ideal would be staying in the room to watch and ordering room service, but if you would rather be with a crowd, I would head to Bluezoo's lounge. They have great bar food, outstanding drinks, and a couple TVs. They don't start serving food until 5 but the lounge opens an hour or two before that if you want to camp out.

They should set a screen at the outside theater at American pavilion!

After a quick search looks like splitsville (which i guess doesnt help since you will be near epcot) has events and swan or dolphin has had events before.

I would probably pick up some good food and eat in the room.

We would love to watch in the room, but our kids will be sleeping and my husband has a tendency to yell at the screen, lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

We were in WDW for the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. The ESPN Zone was PACKED! An hour before will not be early enough for you to get in. I think I remember the BC setting up a special TV in the lobby for the game, but I might be making that up in my head. Maybe you will get lucky and your resort will do something like that. Everyplace is going to have the game on. The bar for the Wave restaurant in the Contemporary has a bunch of TVs and lounge kind of areas to sit. I'm sure they will be playing the game. Good luck finding someplace!

Has anyone suggested ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex? I know in the past they have done some cool things like play the game on the Jumbotron at the welcome center. And I am pretty sure the ESPN Wide World of Sports Cafe is open later to accommodate game watchers (has a full bar too).

Otherwise check with your hotel and surrounding hotels, Crews Cup and Martha's vineyard usually have special gameday menus as does Shula's.

I don't know why I keep forgetting about it, probably because it is still relatively new, but Splitsville would be a fantastic place to watch it, they have TV's all over the place, they have great food, and the bowling would help keep your kids entertained for a little while. It would not surprise me if they do something special for it, so be on the look out.

Last year they did a special deal to get in. Don't remember how much, but remember thinking it was overpriced. (Google tells me it was $75 for entrance, apps and 3 hours of open bar.)

Bear in mind, WDW is well aware of the Super Bowl, makes special accommodations in most hotel bars, bringing in big screens and such. I know Mizners (in the Grand Flo) even has a special one-night-a-year menu, with wings and nachos and such. That said, the crowds still outpace the venues, may be better off watching in your room.

Good to know that they do special events. I will keep and eye out for special events near Boardwalk, that is where I am staying. It would be great if they did one at one of the Epcot resorts.

We would like to watch in the room, but feel it will disturb the kids. My Mom will stay with them, we got a 2 bedroom villa.

Thanks for the response. :)

Hmm..if in room viewing is a no-go and ESPN Club will definitely packed to a point where you may have to be the very first people in line just to see the game, that's tricky. Normally, I would say watch in the room and not have to worry about the crowds. But after some searching, other than those two options, I would recommend seeing the link below. They recommend Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian. (Not at Epcot but easily accessible by monorail though.) or River Roost Lounge at Port Orleans. I would think that the Super Bowl, a game of massive magnitude would be played at all of the lounges in the hotels though.

Thanks for the link! I actually had their website opened on my browser but never thought to check it for this. Who knew? Well... I guess you did! Thanks again. :)

I was thinking Crew's Cup Lounge in Yacht Club (I think). Has anyone been there? Would that be a good place to watch?

We watched last yrs superbowl there. Food/drinks and service were wonderful. We stayed the entire game and had wonderful service. Make sure you tip your server if you are going to bogart a table to the entire game.
The yr before we were at the ESPN club. It was really crowded and extremely loud. The CC lounge is smaller but you can still be rowdy. =)

Thanks. Glad to hear of someone who has watched the game themselves there. How early did you have to get there to get a table? Did they have sound?

I will absolutely tip well. I spent years as a bartender and waitress. Bugs the hell out of me when I see people on this site talking about not wanting to tip 20% because "they pay enough to go to WDW."

We started at the bar in the first quarter and then had a table about an hour later. If you are not in a hurry you can get a table fairy easily. They did have sound.

No offense, because I like Touring Plans, but this is directed at watching a game during the normal season. Super Sunday is a whole different animal.

I am aware of that. I'm a football fan myself! That's why I said afterwards in the post that a game of that magnitude should be hypothetically screened in all the hotel lounges.
