Best place to watch the Super Bowl in Disney World?

Ok, so I know the obvious answer is ESPN club. However, I am sure it will be packed and we don't want to get there at noon to ensure a seat. We are planning to take the kids to Epcot during the day. My husband and I are big football fans and we have my mom watching the kids the evening of the Super Bowl. We are staying at Boardwalk but don't mind going elsewhere to watch the game. We definitely want to be able to have some food and beer while we watch.

All suggestions welcome. Thank you! :)

I don't know of another sports bar there. Do you know the name?
My bad, I thought you meant the one near the entrance to WDW; thus I deleted my response... The one on The Boardwalk is the first place that comes to my mind, especially since you're staying there and will be in Epcot...

The AKL lounges have large TVs, I'm sure at least one (if not all) will have the game on. There's probably a few good venues in DTD too.

I am glad you started this post, as I will be there during the Superbowl as well next year. I watched the National Title game there a few years ago, and remember having to get there really early to get a seat, I think we got there around 1pm and stayed until 11pm....we had a great time though, they had trivia games and were giving out prizes so that was fun. I have heard that they also show the games at the Wide World of Sports complex, but don't think the dining options are the same there.

Watched this year's final Stanley Cup game at the ESPN Club. It was surprisingly easy to get in. We arrived about 30 minutes before the game started and were seated just about as the initial face-off took place. While I'm sure the Super Bowl will draw a larger crowd, you might actually have a better chance of getting in than you think.

You won't find a better place to watch a big game. The entire place was cheering for their favorite team and the staff is great. When we finished eating, our waiter kept "refusing" to bring our check so that we could watch more of the game. He actually told us we were welcome to stay there for the rest of the game if we wanted to and kept bringing my son free soda refills.

Sorry but for the Super Bowl I prefer the big screen in my living room! Lots of food and drinks and I don't have to go anywhere but my own bed aftero_O

This is probably what my husband would say. Too bad we didn't notice the date before we booked. He is gonna kill me if the Giants make it, especially with it being in NY this year. (well NJ anyway.)

I know you are right. I would love to watch it there. I just can't help think it will be super crowded with every man at Disney World that day. If we were going without the kids we would make a day of it and arrive for lunch and spend the day to ensure a spot at the bar or a table, but I don't want to keep the kids away from the parks the whole day. Our kids are 2 and they would not enjoy ESPN club at all.

If I don't get any better suggestions I will definitely just head over there about an hour or so before game time.

Or I may make an ADR at Shula's. My husband is a big fan of this place. This is what we will probably do if the Giants make it to the big game, as I will have to make it up to my husband somehow. Anyone ever watch a game there?

I don't know why I keep forgetting about it, probably because it is still relatively new, but Splitsville would be a fantastic place to watch it, they have TV's all over the place, they have great food, and the bowling would help keep your kids entertained for a little while. It would not surprise me if they do something special for it, so be on the look out.

That is a great idea. My kids are too young and will be at the hotel sleeping with their grandmother, but I will definitely look in to this place. I have never been there.

Thanks! :)

I was thinking Crew's Cup Lounge in Yacht Club (I think). Has anyone been there? Would that be a good place to watch?

While I haven't watched the Super Bowl at the Crew's Cup, I've watched many college games there on Saturdays. It's a great place to watch a football game. Service is generally very good & the food is good as well.

Personally, I would avoid the ESPN Club. I thinking it would be crazy busy on Super Bowl Sunday. I've seen folks lined up 50 deep at 11:30am waiting to get in on Sundays on just on regular season game days. My husband & I have tried to go in to watch the Gators play a 3:30pm game on a Saturday & more than half the time we end up leaving after half an hour as there is no where to sit & everyone is camped out. (We have better luck with 12:30pm / 1pm games, but once the seats fill up, it seems like most people are camped out for the whole afternoon.)

It's the Stanley Cup...... :-) Most people care very little about hockey in comparison to fottball.......especially the Super Bowl.

We are as well and we are 49ers and Bengals fans.....we're thinking of having our own party in the room. Order food to go from the ESPN club and pick up via cab and remainder of food from food court. We're all kind of excited.

Almost any bar at any resort has sports on. When we went to the Captains Crew at YC, they had espn on. Same at the pool bars. Believe me, it isnt going to be hard to find a place to watch it. Could always get drinks and watch in your room, too.
