Best place to go for an anniversary meal.....with a toddler!

Today is my wedding anniversary. My DH and I have been married for 11 happy years :) Unfortunately this year, we won't be spending it in WDW but we will be next year! It will fall on the last night of our trip too, so we'll want to go somewhere really nice. We've got the free DDP so cost isn't really an issue. However, we will have our DS with us who'll be 3 then. He's always full of beans, so something too formal might not be a good idea!

Any suggestions? (I'm getting a little ahead of myself I realise, but it's never too early to start planning ADRs ;)).

First off, congrats!

I'd echo looking into a baby sitter from either Fairy Godmothers or Kids Night Out. Or if you go to one of the deluxes, most have kids clubs where they should be able to watch over your child for you while you dine. Most of the signatures would be nice, I'd suggest an earlier dinner if you bring the kid.

Romance and toddlers. You're working my brain so hard, lol.

I'm going to vote for San Angel Inn. Romantic atmosphere, kid friendly and if you're lucky, a nice view of the boats going by. If the little one gets too crabby, a quick escape is easy. :)

Have you looked at the daycare areas at some of the resorts? You could drop him off for a little Funtime and have your romantic dinner too! But I totally understand if you want to include the little one in your plans. I would also agree with the San Angel Inn... I got engaged there and there is enough going on to attract the little one's attention.

Yes! First CONGRATS! Kids and romance is not easy but you might just be able to pull it off at BOG. Don't laugh but we ate there for my ds's birthday meal and he was the center of attention, but it was also romantic at the same time. Hard to explain, but it was. BTW wait for a table in the West Wing I think that helped.

Hi @figmentfan423 ! BOG is a very romantic place. It is all in how you look at it.;)
But, I would still use the babysitting services they have at most deluxe resorts. It is for a fee, but it's worth it! Congratulations BTW.:joyfull: Flying Fish Cafe is nice, but Victoria & Alberts or Narcoosees seem to be ideal restaurants for a bit of romance.:inlove:

Maybe a place like The Wave would work? It's quiet enough to be considered romantic. It's not formal, but it's still at a prime location (Contemporary). If you're looking for a place your child might nap in, I could maybe see it here... it's not super-busy from our experience and the lighting would help. As a plus, we liked our food when we went. It's not on our 'top' list, but we'd definitely go again.

If he will be three go with one of the childcare centers, like Simba's Clubhouse or the Neverland Club. He will love it and you get a little alone time. If you have no desire to do that, I say go where ever you want. It's Disneyworld diners should expect that there might be kids sitting at the table next to them, and if they give you looks, screw em!

Once our youngest turned 3, we made it a tradition that the last night of our trips, my wife and I would have a quiet dinner together. We made the dinner reservation for a nice restaurant (such as Yachtsman's Steakhouse) and put the kids in that resort's childcare center (such as the Sandcastle Club). This has always worked for us, and the kids absolutely loved Disney's child centers.

Thank you so much for all of your replies :)

I'll put all of the options to DH and see what he thinks. I actually haven't looked into the daycare option , but I will do- we'll be staying at Wilderness Lodge.
Some places you guys have suggested, I never even thought of so thank you so much for the awesome suggestions! I'm going to start making a short list . It's never too early to make a short list, right? ;)

Just because I know you're on the DDP:

Boma is a buffet, and it's a bit bright/busy for it to be romantic. But, the food is great and it'd be a good option if you're looking for a more fancy meal for the adults, but with kid-friendly feel too. Plus, you get the added perk of being able to stroll the savannah before/after. It's also just 1 DDP credit.
Beaches & Cream is an old-fashioned ice cream place on the Boardwalk that also happens to have really good food (not fancy, but good). It's definitely family-friendly, but it could be just cute/charming enough to be a little romantic too, even if you're bringing you're child with you. The Boardwalk area can look really beautiful at night too.

Do you have to be a guest at a resort with a kid's club to use it? We will be staying on property, but PORS does not have a kid's club and we wanted to drop the little ones off so we could have a nice dinner.

No, you do not, as I recall. There is a cost for the activity center though.

In addition, Disney offers in room babysitting, if you would rather go that route.
