Hey guys,

Leaving tomorrow night for WDW, just checked the forecast on orlandosentinel.com . I had planned on going to Epcot on Thursday, MGM on Friday, and MK on Saturday, coming home Christmas Eve. It looks like it is going to start storming Friday, and have major thunderstorms Saturday. I have been a few times when it has rained and it seems like alot of stuff shuts down when it rains. I need some info from the locals, and others familiar with wet weather policy. I know parades and Fantasmic won't happen (too dangerous). I heard that almost nothing stops Illuminations (I think it has been cancelled once or twice for a hurricane)... What about the Christmas stuff like the Osborne lights & candlelight processional? Should I change the plans to go to MK Thursday and save Epcot for the rainiest day? It seems like there would be more open when it's raining (the countries, innoventions, inside stuff) I wanted to go to MK Saturday because they stay open to midnight. I hope the bad weather blows over or goes somewheres else, but I'm trying to plan ahead just in case.
Thanks for your help! and Merry Christmas!

Of those choices, I'd take Epcot in the rain, pretty much for those reasons. I'd think it would be harder to find indoor places to wait it out in MK, and lots of MK attractions could be affected if there's lightning. Maybe you could do MK Thursday and hop over there Saturday night if the weather is nice to finish up?

This response is kind of late, but I like MGM in the rain...most of the rides,TT and RNR, are inside, as are THE Great MOvie Ride, Backlot Tour is on a tram, animators are inside, beauty and the beast show is under cover, Drew Cary, inside, Indiana Jones is covered...altho I am not sure the show would go on as some is outside...Lights motor action would not go on...but I can't think of anything else except Fantasmic....

Epcot is good too, altho Test Track would not be open and ILluminations might be canceled...But AK and MK suck in the rain.

Our first choice would be Epcot. It just has so much to do that's indoors. My family spends a couple hours alone in the Living Seas (or should I say "The Seas with Nemo & Friends"? ;) )

Here's another vote for MGM -- everything is inside -- all you do is walk from attraction to attraction outside in the rain --

Of course, all three outdoor shows (BB, LMA, IJSS) will be down when it rains, so don't expect to see those.

THere is also the wonderful Muppets 3D to which I head every time it rains -- and see twice in a row.

Epcot, while it has many things indoors, requires long walks to get from one in the other in the rain...and unless you stick completely with Future World, the last thing I would want to do is walk around from Country to Country in the rain.

It depends on when it rains. One morning it was raining and we went to MK and did all of the indoor attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland with zero wait - including Peter Pan twice. The rain actually stopped at 10ish, but the crowds did not materialize until after lunch. It's easy to zip from attraction to attraction since the areas are small. So a rainy morning isn't a bad time for the east side of the park.
