First off, I personally don't feel the parks are in stagnation, I feel more the parks are in flux. Something, good or bad, always seems to be changing. I cant remember a visit in a long while that hasn't had the feel of change. It could be attractions, food, crowds. Disney in itself is a living thing. That is probably one of the big things that draw me there.

Anyway, wiping a single tear from my cheek, I picked the Magic Kingdom. I love HS, even with all the changes. AK is probably my current favorite, EPCOT is good. But when I talk to veterans of the world or those who have been once or those who have never been, I always hear them talk about the Magic Kingdom. It is what is WDW and Disneyland for that matter. At least that is how I see it, even when looking through others eyes.

Yeah I may have worded the stagnation bit badly, I meant not to depict my beliefs but the consensus of the community - furthermore, I mean a stagnation over the past years as a lack of E tickets coming in. Now we are definitely picking up the pace.

What about rides? Probably the most important aspect of an amusement park. EPCOT scores laughably in that category. And I heavily contest that rides such as Living With The Land are enjoyed by my generations. In reality, Soarin and Test Track are both overrated but are only so popular because theyre in a park with nothing to do.But you’re not wrong about anything else. EPCOT is great in every other category. It just sucks super badly with the biggest necessity.

Not sure what your generation is but I'm in my 30s and Living With the Land is my favorite thing in Epcot. I was so excited when I did the Behind the Seeds tour!!

I voted magic kingdom but I was very close to choosing animal kingdom. What pushed me to MK is one simple thing. It's the only true full day park. AK just doesn't have enough there yet. Once they add another land and a few more mid level attractions, it will be number one for me.

When people say that DAK isn't a full day park then that tells me that they aren't doing the park right. It isn't MK, yoh have to take your time, all of the trails and shows, it isn't a rush from ride to ride like MK is. With that said, though I don't agree, it's an interesting opinion nonetheless :) I do think that MK has a lot more to do but it's also over twice as old

I figured this would come up as it always does. Doing the park "right" is where I take issue. No one should have to do everything a park offers, even if you don't like it, to make it a full day. I could make my local mall a full day thing if I wanted to. There should be enough at each park so if you don't like watching shows, or walking exhibits, or whatever, you feel you got your moneys worth. The old saying, different strokes for different folks, is the best way to say it. I can only walk the same trails, and see the same shows so many times before I just don't care. For the first time person, I will mostly agree with you. But for us people who have been to AK upwards of 30 times, it needs a much better selection of attractions.

By attractions you mean what? Traditional rides? DAK does not need to follow a model such as that. I have no problem with DAK adding more, I actually think it needs it, but for an Animal Kingdom, [live] animals should remain a major theme. I, for one, would likr trail that allows us to see some more African animals like lions or elephants. Without obstructing the theme of Kili of course, like the trek does.

I have a hard time believing a 7 year old or even a 12 year old being very interested in Living With The Land. Of course there are some that love plants. But they're the exceptions. Not the rule. I'm 19 years old and I know plenty of people who love that ride who are my age but they're the people who go to Disney every other day (like me... I'm a local..) For tourists who visit EPCOT maybe 5 times in their life, I'm pretty sure it's one of the most forgettable and boring rides.

I chose AK, even though it's probably my least favorite park (by a very small margin.) Overall, it's the most immersive and consistent with its theme. I really appreciate how easy it is to navigate, it has a nice flow to it. There are good dining options for just about anyone, both TS and QS. Good rides, good shows. It's just a really solid park.

The things I don't like about it are pretty minor and more personal opinions.

By attractions I would prefer rides, mostly because the park is already heavy on the exhibit/show side of the spectrum. The park desperately needs a couple family friendly dark rides for starters.

As the parks stand in stagnation?? Let's see...Tron, a new speedway in MK, GOTC, Ratatouille and a new space themed restaurant in Epcot, not to mention TSL and SWL in HWD and Pandora, just a few years old in AK...what are you talking about? There are now new E-ticket attractions in all parks being built or planned and the parks are in stagnation? Some people on here are just NEVER satisfied...maybe you would rather have WDW like Six Flags Great Adventure by us in NJ...1 new ride usually every year, and you pray your car is still in the parking lot when you leave...I don't consider myself a pixie duster or a doom & gloomer....I tell it like it is...GET A GRIP...I am super psyched for all the new additions. I've been going since 1993, and I honestly don't remember when all the parks were being mentioned in one sentence.
Oh, and to answer your question, MK is and will always be my favorite/ best with Epcot a close, VERY CLOSE second.
You shouldn't have deleted your original post...now people will wonder why my comments look like they came out of left field

They might be the exception but my friend's kids ages 9 and 6 really enjoy the ride. They are in awe of a ride going through a large greenhouse LOL. Now it doesn't compare to Figment, which was the 9 year olds favorite, but they still definitely enjoyed it for both of their trips.

The best still remains MK for me. With the Castle as the weenie, the separate and distinct lands, the train encircling the park, Main Street shops, variety of entertainment, attractions, and the atmosphere and nostalgic feelings it holds. As much as they add onto other parks and bring in new attractions, MK will always hold onto its place as BEST for us.

I respect that. MK is nearly and shall remain THE park. The castle is as iconic of Disney parks as Mickey himself.

I think Magic Kingdom wins for a number of reasons.

1. It was modeled after an existing park that had been honed to near-perfection, except that MK has a LOT more space.
2. There is something for everyone there and most attractions can be enjoyed by guests of any age.
3. Each land has real personality that is unique from all of its brethren.
4. The rides and shows that have lasted have done so because they are legitimately timeless, but there is usually something new every few years to interest repeat visitors.
5. The Haunted Mansion. 'Nuff said!

With all that said, Epcot in the 80's really gave MK a run for its money. Also, Animal Kingdom, though not my favorite, was remarkably well-designed. I'm going to get some hate, but I always felt the Studios were a quickly-built knee-jerk reaction to Universal and suffered because of it.

So you think 80s Epcot was better than 80s Magic Kingdom? Interestingly bold statement.

Depends of what you mean by best... I'll go with an unpopular choice - Epcot.
  • Lots of great dining options at all price points
  • Lots of shops with varied souvenirs
  • Lots of toilets without lines
  • Fine landscaping
  • Great architecture with plazas
  • Rides that appeal to multiple generations
EPCOT is the BEST.

The best "Disney experience" is MK, even though i think it's overrated for several reasons.

Epcot is the best idea Disney has had, and it can be the best park if Disney stopped ignoring it in favor of other parks.
