Best pack, bag or waist pack for long days in the bubble?

OK, all you WDW experts: What do you wear or carry in the parks so you have needed items at hand? What can be carried comfortably without worrying about water and gravity of rides, yet can help you transition into a signature dining experience without looking disheveled?

I usually carry a Patagonia sling bag. I can hold everything from my purse (wallet, phone, sunglasses, etc) plus whatever extras. It's made from nylon like a backpack and has a few zipper compartments.

It depends on how much you need to have with you, but I'd suggest a stylish mini-backpack or a small or medium-sized crossbody purse.

I wear a small crossbody (this one is a favorite), and I literally never take it off in the parks -- the small size makes it impossible to overstuff, so it's light and effortless to wear. It tucks under or beside ride restraints, I can leave it on when dining if I don't want to hang it on my chair, and it can hold my sunglasses, camera, phone, a mini-First Aid kit (a couple of Band-aids and blister pads, a sample-size packet of Tylenol, alcohol wipes and antibiotic ointment, in a tiny Baggie), a few wet wipes (for quick wash-ups before/after CS meals) and some 3x5 cards with our touring itinerary and other important info. (park hours, lost-and-found phone numbers, etc.), a tube of lip balm, and some extra cash, credit cards, ID, and a couple of Ziploc sandwich bags (to tuck the phone/camera inside, if it looks like rain or if we go on a "wet ride").

For the male side of things, my DH puts everything he needs into his pockets (he likes cargo shorts for this reason, as he always has to have an inhaler and Epi-pen on his person, which get pretty bulky pretty fast). If for some reason we need more than the usual amount of stuff (e.g., hoodies for a cold evening, the kids' autograph books), he sometimes carries a backpack, as well.

We quit carrying anything that does not fit into a pocket. Bag free makes for the most comfortable way to tour for us. There is just nothing we need to carry around all day. What is it you think are "needed items at hand?"

I bought a Travelon backpack from Amazon which is perfect for Disney! Small yet it can hold a lot. Also the zippers can be closed, so you do not need to worry about anyone trying to get into your bag. Ameribag sling bags are also fantastic!

We purchased a clear, plastic backpack and a clear, plastic f@nny pack on Amazon. The security guards last week were laughing and said they loved us. We told them WDW should sell them. It would make everyone's lives easier. They agreed and said it could happen soon.

I will alternate between a very small crossbody purse (enough to hold my phone and small camera), and my running buddy pouch when I only need my phone. These are more than enough for me.

If you decide to bring a larger shoulder bag, I HIGHLY recommend putting all of your items inside a large, clear ziplock bag (like gallon size) before putting it in your bag. Not only will this keep your items dry on water rides, but it makes going through security a breeze. Open all the pockets, and pull the bag out of the main compartment for them to look at and you'll be through in 30 seconds or less.

Very clever way to protect items and make bag check go more smoothly. I would have never thought of that!

I took a Stowaway Day Pack from L.L. Bean for the first time last year. It was great. I am the "designated carrier" in the parks, so having a comfortable backpack was crucial. This particular bag was super-light, small enough to not feel like I'm hiking, and roomy enough to fit various items (ponchos, sunglasses and cameras when not being used). Best part is it only has two zippers, which made bag check go much quicker. And it folds down into itself, so I was able to tuck it right into my suitcase.

Picked up a Geckobrands waterproof 30L backpack for our current trip (we're in the airport now - hooray!). I installed a battery powered LED strip inside to make it easy to see the contents in the dark and because I'm weird like that. I will weigh in after the trip as to its performance.

As a woman of childbearing years and Murphy being my best friend, Auntie Flo only visits when I'm on vacation. So yes, I need a bag.

Me, too. :banghead:
I put stuff in a clear ziplock bag in my clear, plastic f@nny pack or backpack. I have yet to have one security guard say anything about anything, except to thank me for having a clear, plastic f@nny pack.

I just throw the supplies in randomly because I'm a jerk. Nothing discreet.
If you have to make me uncomfortable when you root through my bag I'm going to make it unpleasant.
I know it's not the guard's fault, but I'm not fond of security theatre.
