Best option with toddler and MIL ?

I think that the answer to this question largely has to do with your husband's relationship with your mother. If you have a great relationship, you might try a value suite. If not, I'd go with two value rooms, perhaps adjoining.

It should be noted that we found the suite to be absolutely necessary when visiting with our children as it allows them to sleep while we hang out in the other bedroom. I'm not sure how that would work with another adult in the suite.

Also, it should be noted that if it were my family and my MIL, I would put her in a value room at All Star Movies, while we take a room at Paradise Pier.

Haha! I actually laughed out loud at the last line. My husband has a great relationship with my mother, but I don't think he (or I) want to climb into bed at night with my mom two feet away. It is a vacation, after all. The AoA suites are looking good - the question is, is it worth the extra cash over two value rooms. I'd love to get a suite at a DVC, but I just don't think its worth the extra money for us. I think my husband and I will be able to go back to staying at the deluxes once the kids are grown.... a good, 20 years from now haha.

I think you answered your own question, a little. It sounds like 2 rooms (unless you could swing a 2 room villa) would be the best. And probably your MIL would like some privacy as well.
