Best Mom Bag??

I will be taking my two girls to MK and AK later this month and was thinking about what to bring. I am guessing that I will need a back pack or something similar for kid essentials, but what about something for my cell phone and camera. Do they still sell packs? Hasn't someone developed a better yet?

I bought my first ever pack while in Disney a couple years ago, and my DH made fun of me at first but by the end of the trip he was talking about how perfect it was for the trip. It's the only place I ever use it! Its perfect for carrying my phone, ticket/room card and a little cash. It's so nice not having a purse to worry about. We also pack a back pack for the kids essentials that we usually stow under the stroller or take turns wearing.

I like a small cross body bag just as practicle but a lot cuter than a pack!

Not really what you're after but a lot of brands make backpack diaper bags now that work amazing for that but also double as just really efficient backpacks for the park. We have an Eddie Bauer one I got at ToysRUs and it has stroller clips so you can not always tote it if need be, bottle pouches on the side that I kept our drinks in if I had a bottle. The inside was organized in a very cool way too for typical park stuff. It was light and easy to toss between my husband and I. Worked great for diapers too

I would DEFINITELY go with a cross-body bag - like a Vera Bradley mini-hipster - and NOT a pack.

Or if you need more room than the VB mini hipster and are looking for something light try a Kipling brand Alavar or Kipling Syro. They are made of nylon, wash beautiful, (much better than my VB's do even laying flat) and my Husband will carry them because they come in black, navy and red.

That's what I'm taking in 4 weeks!! And what I carry for my small stuff at home too.

I wear a VB hipster (full-size, not the mini) which carries BOTH my essentials (camera and phone in a ziploc to guard against splashes on water rides, KTTW card handy in the outside zipper pocket) and the kids' essentials (wet wipes, extra undies in case of an "accident," extra sunscreen, sunglasses, and a first aid "mini kit" containing band-aids, blister pads, ointment and headache medicine). We don't carry any beverages with us: full bottles are heavy and all the counter service locations will give you ice water for free, on request.

The hipster is lightweight and effortless to wear: the crossbody design means I don't ever have to take it off, and it zips securely so I needn't worry about anything getting lost on a wild ride.

Thanks all. I will probably look for a cross body small bag. Just enough to hold the items I won't leave with the stroller in a back pack.

I'm a disney dad and my wife brings in one canvas bag that we keep the diapers, snacks and knock on wood a change of clothes for the kids. Everything else I carry in CARGO SHORTS! They are the new pack. But wear a belt because everyone likes to stuff your big pockets.

I bought a new Coach cross body for this trip, I was able to sell DH that it would be beneficial for him so he wouldn't have to carry anything LOL

I had a Very Bradley cross body our last trip, and I have to say I became annoyed with it. It was pretty well packed with stuff, and I found myself having to switch shoulders throughout the day b/c my shoulder was starting to ache. I am going with a VB backpack for ur next trip. I have one and it's comfy, the weight is distributed nicer so your shoulders don't ache, and there was plenty of room for all our stuff. Don't do a pack, I beg of you!

seemed to work well, but not quite big enough. the nice thing is that you belt it up first and then cinch the adjustment straps and it hugs your waist incredibly well.

We just have a monster sized backpack that fits everything. We haven't used it at Disney World yet, but it didn't fail us in Toronto or New York. My husband was the Yak & carried it most of the time.

My mom carried a backpack and just always put her phone in her shorts pocket. For your camera, Disney sells small cases that fit most point and shoots. Anything larger should go in your backpack. They usually sell them at the front of the parks. They're black with a Mickey outline and a strap. For your phone, I love this:

They sell them in the parks and online. You can carry it on your wrist, or it also hooks onto a belt loop. I use mine ALL OF THE TIME! And they have more designs besides this one.

If you don't want a backpack, a tote bag with a zipper is a good alternative. Disney has one with Mickey and Minnie in Paris that they sell at the France Pavilion and (I think) at some of the gift shops such as Boardwalk. I got mine at Hilton Head Island and it's the same bag, just with Mickey and Shadow. It works great for in the parks, and I can dump my phone and camera in it as well.

They have some packs at walmart and target. I even saw disney ones.

I just saw a cross body travelon on qvc. I really like that brand because they're lightweight and hold EVERYTHING! Just may have to break down and get another bag. LOL

Will you have a stroller??? I am looking forward to going next August with my 6 month old and having a stroller with a basket underneath... That way me and DH have less to carry!!! Just a thought

A bag is not cute, but it's the right tool for me. Frankly, I don't care what anyone thinks about how it looks. It keeps my arms from going numb due to pressure on my shoulders and I can wear it on all the rides at Disney and most rides at other theme parks. The only ones they aren't allowed on are the ones like Rip Ride Rocket at Uni that have those hip/leg/lap restraints. They also have the added benefit of being fairly thief proof when worn in the front, so I don't worry about my valuables being swiped.
