Best Moderate For Families?

Now that French Quarter is closed (can anyone guess for how long?) what would be the best moderate for a family?

The most important things for us are the pool-slide and overall theming.

The Port Orleans French Quarter is going to open in October. I would say it is the bed out of the other resorts in that price range. The Port Orleans Riverside is nice too but French Quarter is the best.

I agree with SJT. POFQ has a festive aura about it that is contagious, and kids love the pool!
BTW, I just checked the WDW site, and they're accepting online reservations right now for dates commencing 10/1/02. I'd been told by the people at CR (phone) that the resort would re-open on 9/13. That date must have been set back.

All the moderates are great for families but I think Dixie Landings (PORS) is the best of the bunch. The pool is just as good as PO just not as much theming but still has a great slide and other water play areas. It also has a great play structure on Ol' Man Island (if it's still called that). The food court is good there too. We've heard people with younger children like PO better because it is not as sprawling as DL.

I think all the resorts are great for families .. our favorite moderate is the CBR

I liked the size of FQ, it wasn't too big and wasn't too small, just right.

Riverside is a great resort, great food court, great arcade.

Either Port Orleans resort is a good choice.

The best resort (mod) is the Caribean Beach Resort. There are boats, bikes, great pool, a zoo, and trails all over the place. A great choice.

I just heard from a friend at WDW that FQ will deff. be open by the summer season. Hope that helps all you FQ fans. But FQ is also a grat resort (i love the water slide and the food.)
