2 adults on a wonderful trip away should eat where for lunch or dinner at the Magic Kingdom? The sky is the limit, but I do not want to leave the Magic Kingdom. We are eating at EPCOT an awful lot on our trip and this meal I want to have in my favorite place. What do you recommend? Thanks!

Character meal buffet w/ Pooh: Crystal Palace
All You Can Eat Family Style: Liberty Tree Tavern
Basic sandwiches: The Plaza
Nice simple Italian: Tony's Town Square
Signature dining w/ the princesses: Cinderella's Royal Table (2 table service credits) (somewhat difficult to book)
Quick Service: Columbia Harbor House, Pecos Bill's Cafe (clam chowder, burgers w/ fixin's bar)

Those are my suggestions.

Happy planning!:)

Same thing here! Most of our dinner reservations are in Epcot and we will be having dinner (CS) in MK once and still have no clue were! Thanks for the question! :)

Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner, and Pecos Bill's for lunch (or if you are in to tacos and they are open, the old Pirate y el parico across from PotC is good as well.

I would take the monorail out of MK to 'Ohana.
I have a problem recommending anything better than mediocre at MK.
Thanks for the suggestion. We have done 'Ohana and the Luau. MY spouse did not much care for either. :(I enjoyed 'Ohana, but she cannot be talked into doing that again. I was thinking about a late lunch, or as it stands now, a SUPER late dinner with my princess gals in the castle.

You're definitely not up for taking the monorail to one of the resorts? The food is much, much, better at any of them than what you'll get in the park. There's Cali Grill, Narcoossee's, Citrico (I'd say 'Ohana, but you're not a fan, so no worries).

However, if you really want to stay in the park, I would keep it simple and eat at The Plaza, which is the best of the MK's table service eateries. Good sandwiches, and a nice dessert menu. Otherwise, I'd go for Liberty Tree. Whateve you do, avoid Tony's like the plague.

The Plaza Restaurant is a nice early lunch destination. Dinner is a little harder to recommend anything better than just okay. My last meal at Tony's was good, but nothing special. A chicken Caesar salad or BBQ sandwich from Cosmic Ray's is another simple but decent dinner option if you're looking for a little something basic.

I would also strongly suggest hopping the monorail to have dinner at one of the resorts. The California Grill is my favorite, but dinner at Kona Cafe followed by watching Wishes from the beach at the Polynesian is really special.

Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch.
*The menu is nothing extraordinary, but the food is palatable.
*The decor is early American, and quite pleasant from room to room.
*The atmosphere is more civil, as opposed to the noise and rampant children found in counter-service places and The Crystal Palace.
*Ask for bread. They don't give it automatically, but it's gratis if you ask.

I would recommend the Liberty Tavern for dinner, it is served family style and has a wonderful variety. You could check out Columbia Harbor House for QS dining or Cosmic Ray's. DH & I like to hit Cosmic Ray's for the baked chicken dinner.

Counter Service - Columbia Harbor House (extra points for their apple strudel - yum!)

Table Service - Tony's Town Square. Basic Italian but anything better and you're looking to leave MK and hit a monorail resort

Monorail Resort - Kona Cafe in the Polynesian Resort. Really good food and the Poly is gorgeous.

Hmmm we are doing CHH for lunch our first day. We tried Tony's before and the staff was great but I did not like the food at all. I was thinking the Plaza, but maybe we will just leave the park and head out to a monorail place. Thanks for the suggestions all!

It was my wife who did not like 'Ohana. I LOVED it! Totally agree on Tony's. The staff was so nice and they decorated our table for our anniversary and it was a cute place. The food however was terrible. Could have been an off night, but it will be a long while before I try it again.

We need time for things to happen.
I think you need to convince your wife to give Ohana' another try my friend! Even Kona Cafe!?
Nothing in the MK comes close.

But if you are staying in the MK - then to me Liberty Tree is your only real option. I actually dig the Thanksgiving feast thing they got going on and it's a relatively laid back quiet restaurant.
