I know that this thread has probably been here before but I couldn't find it in the SEARCH but where is the best viewoing point to see Illuminations? I don't want to have to eat at a resturante or anything to sit in there seats so in general where are the best viewing spots?

Thanks!

The best place to watch ROE is usually the pavilion opposite of the way that the wind is blowing. The wind will clear out the smoke and allow you the best viewing possible. Other than that, however, I have a few favorite places, including the bridge in Italy and the Out-cropping between France and the UK are two of my favorite places.

The wind plays the biggest part, but after that I like the views from the stretch between Mexico and Canada. The show seems much more complete from there. Another nice place is between America and Japan. The globe starts to move from there, and all of the trees make like a picture frame.

Well last time we were there my sis had to finish her mask so were racing around the rest of the countries before Illuminations. So we end up in GB and found this place at the last moment. Its by the ramp and we stood by the trash can but u know we dealt with that. Anyways for a last minute spot it was great! lol

I have 2 suggestions...

This weekend, we luckily found a bench in Canada, right in front of the Canadian pastries cart and "Le Cellier" and it was a great view.

And we also like it right next to "Rose and Crown".

Have fun!!

Up until our last trip, we used to always try for a spot near where the Earth Globe starts out (near the American Adventure).

Well, on our past trip as we wer walking in that direction counter clockwise from Future World, our PAL Mickey starts to shake and tell us that we should stop in Mexico because there's some spots left open, and it might be a great place to watch. We decided that he must know what he's talking about, I mean, he IS Mickey Mouse.

Turned out to be the best viewing location we've ever come by. Even later in that trip when we watched from the VIP area near Italy (it was open that night), it didn't compare.

Try Mexico....

from personal experience, I can say that there are two REALLY great places to watch Illuminations that I have visited. The first, of course, requires saving your spot a long time in advance at the very front, center of world showcase lagoon, immediately after the bridge that connects it to future world. Go right up to the railing over the water. The next spot is at the Rose and Crown pub....you need to make reservations for a late dinner...and ask for a seat near the water. It may be hard to get...but what could be better than a great view of Illuminations, sitting down AND eating??!!!!:sohappy:

My favorite spot is the bridge near the International Gateway. We always stay at the Beach Club, so it provides a great view and gives us quick, easy access back to the Beach Club / Boardwalk areas.

Well as the others here have told you...wind is a MAJOR issue when finding a seat. I will tell u this past 4th of july I waited till the last min to figure out the wind....and in the middle of the show, it changed directions. But you should try to use the wind as a guide. You dont want ashes and smoke in your face druing the show.

My favorite spot thos is right when you leave Future World into World Showcase. With Spaceship Earth directly behind you. Reason is because you can get out quicker at the end.

Thats what I enjoy.....

Not knocking your choice at all, but being all the way in the back of WS and waiting about 15 minutes before you begin to leave the park is wonderful. Most of the people have cleared out and you can have a nice, relaxing stroll to the front of the park--with very few people or strollers banging into you. For us, it's a special time as a family.

I have only been able to stay for Illuminations once in the last six years. It was a nice spot but we have tons of pictures of the backs of people's heads. So these suggestions are great and I cannot wait to check them out!

Best ROE spots

As many have replied, always pay attention to the direction of the wind behind you!

One of the best places I've found, and I've seen the show a dozen or so times from various places, it on the balcony of the Japan pavilion, outside the restaurant. Great elevated, and unobstructed view!

I would always say two places:

The front of the park and center of the lagoon (always gets packed with people so you have to save your spot real early...not practical).

MY CHOICE: ITALY!! ITALY!! ITALY!!

And wind plays a major role...I wonder why they don't get rid of the whole fire blast...its takes away from fireworks because the smoke doesn't disperse...I guess thats one of the roles of the Globe.

GO TO ITALY FOR ILLUMINATIONS.....:hammer:
