So being a WDW newbie, our first vacation 2004. What resort in your opinion has improved in quality, food court, bedrooms, etc, in the last ten years?Or has your favourite resort stayed the same.?:wave.

Hate to say it, but if anything, Disney Resorts have seen a decline. Wilderness Lodge I would say has remained steady, but even there we've experienced some issues.

For us it's the Grand Floridian, we average about 6 stays a year there and have not noticed any decline in service or room quailty. In fact because they now recognize us if anything service has improved :sohappy:

I've only stayed at 3 resorts (Contemporary, Grand Floridian + Shades of Green). I would say the Contemporary and Floridian have been pretty steady, but Shades of Green improved when they did some renovations and added a new wing a few years back. Nothing else major had changed but the newer rooms are really nice.

With the exception of our fridge not working in our room at Poly this last time the room was cleaner than our previous stay. I really didn't have any complaints otherwise.

Since I started staying at the Boardwalk Inn back in August 2010 I would have to go with them. One major reason for that is their Club Level Cast Members who I think are simply the best set of people you will ever meet, assuming you stay Club Level over there. I previously stayed Club Level at the Contemporary, Polynesian, & Beach Club, so when comparing them I say nothing beats the Boardwalk Inn service.

Had no complaints with their rooms and having a Boardwalk/Crescent Lake view is great when you see all the action happening along the Boardwalk.

Besides that my favorite Table Service Restaurant is the ESPN Club which is also located there and I go at least 7 times each trip because I think their food is amazing and it doesn't get enough credit because it has a sports theme.

You can't be serious?

Sorry about the John McEnroe headliner:ROFLOL:But you can't be serious man. What about the mods like Port Orleans? Queen size beds, widescreen tv,royal rooms, etc.I know many people go on about the food not as good as it was,but I've yet to have a bad meal experience. If I was looking for a gourmet food experience vacation I wouldn't be expecting to be looking at WDW.Maybe a Caribbean cruise for the gastronomic vacation.Anyway, thanks for your answer.

You asked for opinions, you got opinions. Nothing to say your "research" will result in uniform opines.....

You need to get out more. I love Rainforest Cafe, but in no way is it the best food on Disney property.

Sorry, but you can't compare the food at ESPN Club to Victoria and Albert's.

POFQ! Always was our favorite, but now with the refurbished rooms and queen beds it is even better. The word is getting out and the resort is getting more crowded these days but its still the best for us. I like it even better than AKL club level savanna view.

Comparing our first stay in 1995 to our more recent visits I would have to say the Contemporary greatly improved after the major refurb.

That said, I do miss the Concourse Steakhouse which I greatly prefered over the Wave or the Contempo Cafe, but that is just my opinion.

Are you high?

That's a mature response.....

You claim you want opines on the "most improved resort." Then you reply someone can't be serious when they reply that they're not finding much improvement in the Disney resorts right now. Did you honestly believe every response was going to be one filled with laudations? People are going to have different opinions, regardless of the thread title.....

I would definately go with both POR & POFQ, now that they've refurbished the rooms (and currently still are at Riverside). Eventhough I loved both resorts before, those rooms were in terrible need of updating. With the new Royal Guest Rooms, Alligator Bayou rooms, and FQ rooms redone, they look amazing and they are perfect for the theme.

Most improved...

I would say Caribbean Beach and PORiverside mostly due to the new pirate rooms and princess rooms!
Other than that, most resorts seem to focus on updating the pools rather than the rooms!

The " you can't be serious man " was in reference to John McEnroe [ he was a tennis player from the US ] therefore a joke, not an insult to Captainkidd.Secondly I do not expect everyone to have the same opines as myself. And last but not least,I seem to remember you nit-picked a thread about something I asked many moons ago. Anyway there's a old saying that comes to mind." It's in the nature of the beast."

I would have to say Grand Floridian. They have stayed great since opening. Their service is the absolute best on property. As for most improved, I would have to say POFQ?POR. The general redo of the rooms is fantastic, being themed and Princess rooms. CBR has been the least improved over the years, The grounds are great, but the buildings and rooms have taken a beating. I wish they would update this place most, as it used to be our favorite. But I guess I will have to stay with Grand Floridian.:D
