Last year in February we went on HToT a second time at night before we left the studios and it was absolutely fantastic, I don't remember how long the drop were or the wait but the cast member was creepy when he was seating us clearly into his character and then just as the lift doors started to close he turned around and yelled, "Wait, wait.." and after the doors closed we could see his silhouette pounding on the doors and heard him say, "Don't go to the 13th floor!!!!" It made our day and everyone in the ride was clapping and it just made everything great which just shows how important the cast members are to the parks because that took a great ride and made it excellent. I will never forget that ride.

Cast members can really make that ride spectacular. On one particular visit to ToT, there was a young girl working the queues/lifts that was really into her role. She noticed that this group of college age guys behind my wife and I were a little freaked out about going on the ride, and then the fun began. She would appear as if from nowhere... kinda like the butler on the Mr. Deeds remake.... except she would STARE at them with this creepy look... They were freaking out, animatedly so, and everyone else in line was laughing. At one point, the one who looked most scared was hiding behind a pole, and she sneaked up around the other side and just stood there, waiting for him to notice. When he finally did, he jumped UP like someone shocked him and ran back to the very back of his group. Man, we were laughing hard. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen happen in line.

We were fortunate to run across one of those gems of a CM on our first visit to Hollywood Studios. My daughter isn't much of a morning person on vacation, so by the time she got in gear and we arrived at the park around 11:00, all the fastpasses for TSM were gone - this was in the days of the old paper fastpasses. The CM standing near the chalk board heard my daughter talking about her disappointment, asked if it was just the two of us, and then proceeded to give us those red "you can go any time" fastpasses. I was stunned because I had heard this ride was the most popular in HS and that the standby time was usually 1-2 hours. And the fastpasses were already gone by 11:00 AM. And my daughter is a grown woman. Needless to say, she made our day. I would have hugged her, but she was French and probably would have thought I was one of those obnoxious Americans.

I was in single rider line for EE, and overheard the two guys in front of me talking. It was obvious that they were cast members and that they must have been "friends" of a character. I asked them what they did at WDW (I didn't have my kids) and they said that they weren't supposed to talk about that. I was really impressed that they took their job that seriously. Then I said "I bet you are friends with Goofy." The guy that I said it to looked a little shocked and asked "How did you know?" I told him "You're so tall, I figured that had to be it." Had a great time talking to them for the rest of the line.
On a side note, who is the tallest character (Chewbacca? Does that count?)? Who is the shortest character?

Can't remember which year but we were on a two week visit from the UK... On the plane we met a couple around similar age (thirty something's) and chatted for a long time. It was going to be their first visit and they were asking lots of questions. We enjoyed meeting each other and wished them luck and an enjoyable time.
Around a week later we went to Typhoon Lagoon and set ourselves up on a couple of well chosen sun beds at our fav spot.... We went into the water and splashed around .. Then (and I'm sure you've guessed it) on returning to our spot we saw the very same couple on the very next sun ends ... What chance eh?
At the end of the trip (all independently booked) they were on the same plane home too!

This year in July we struck up a conversation with a family on the bus from the Caribbean Beach to the MK..
I got into some detail with the Mum and my wife was talking to another family member.
In the afternoon we were waiting for the parade and I was relating a part of my conversation with the Mum to my wife when, as I did so, the family appeared in front of us and crossed the walkway ahead... We were amazed again..
However more surprises when we all left the MK on the same bus at around 6pm!!! .. We told them we had spotted them in the park.
Perhaps they will now read this account?
