Best Drinks in the World

A review of TEN of the finest drinks WDW has to offer. My wife disagrees with the order, but we agree on the selections!

10. MYSTERY DRINK (O'Hana, Polynesian)
Ok, we start with a mystery drink. It comes in a pineapple. It's got 151 in it, which you can't taste, pineapple juice, and, that's all we can think of. But...it comes in a pineapple! The downside, it's really expensive. (PRICE: approx. $15.00)

9. Cherry Coke (Sci-Fi Dine In)
It's just a Coke with cherry syrup and a cherry. Hard to find these anymore, and this one is made perfectly. Best part, free refills! (PRICE: $3.09)

8. Milkshake (Sci-Fi Dine In)
I recommend the chocolate. This is the best milkshake I've ever had. The atmosphere makes it even more enjoyable! (PRICE: $4.29)

7. Orange Creamsicle (Barefoot Pool Bar, Polynesian)
Basically, the Frozen Sunshine (See Below), with some vodka. The taste of vodka is not noticed. This is a great drink, with a little kick :animwink: This would rank higher if it weren't so expensive. (PRICE: $9.99)

6. Kungaloosh! (PI - RIP)
Not sure what's in this thing, but it's good. Part daquari, part nostalgia, all good. "We lov'em!" (PRICE: Moot )

5. Smart Watermelon (Cool Club)
If you can make your way across the sticky floors, grab a Dixie cup of this stuff. It wasn't there last time I visited, sadly. There was a family of 6 huddled around the machine with a resort mug, perhaps they've run it dry? This stuff is good. (PRICE: FREE!)

4. Coton-Tini (T-Rex)
So my wife got one of these on our first visit to this place. They take a martini glass, and they put in a big, fluffy piece of cotton candy. Then, they pour over the cotton candy a full glass of martini of your choice (5 variations). Excellent presentation, and, who am I kidding, cotton candy + liquor = happy people. (PRICE: $9.99, but you keep the shaker!)

3. Mojito (Polynesian)
Bias warning: I am a huge Mojito fan. That said, there are two places in the World that serve excellent Mojitos. The first location is Bongos. When you dedicate an entire outside tiki bar to the drink, it's going to be good. The second location is the O'Hana bar at the Polynesian. Maybe it's the atmosphere, but I don't think so. The mint to sugar ratio is just right. A little pricey, if I could afford it (financially or physically), I'd listen to the eukele and drink these Mojitos all day long! (PRICE: unknown)

2. Frozen Sunshine (Beaches & Cream)
If you've never had one, this thing is unbelievable. Basically, it's orange and vanilla bean ice cream, seltzer, milk, whipped cream, and little orange-shaped candies (best as I can reverse-engineer). They pour it in a glass and give you the milkshake cup! Folks, these things are outstanding. I'll warn you, they generally don't let you order them to go (unless they're really slow), so you'll probably need to wait the 45 minutes for a seat. It's well worth it. :slurp: (PRICE: $4.99)

1. TINKERBELL TWIST SLUSH(Sleepy Hollow, Liberty Square)
I'll admit it. I'm embarrassed to order it. In fact, I used to make my wife order it for me :lookaroun. This drink is a combination of sour apple and watermellon slush. That's it. But, on a hot day, this is the best thing in the World. It's not even quenching, really. In fact, plan on shelling out another $2.50 for a Coke, or asking for a water with it, because it will probably make you more thirsty. However, it's worth it. This drink is absolutely incredible! Give it a try next time! (PRICE: $3.29)

Dang, I was just there and I had no idea that Bongo's had an outside tiki bar. Is that new, or have I just never noticed it? I would have loved to have gone there. Oh well, next year I guess.

I, like you, am a huge mojito fan. I've never ordered one on Disney property though, so I will have to try both of these on my next visit. Just out of curiosity, have you ever had the mojitos at Bahama Breeze? Those are my favorite. I'm wondering how the ones at Disney compare.

One drink that I would add to your list is one that I'm not sure you can even still get, now that PI is closed. It's called Jessica's Surprize.

Hey, thanks for the drink name and the recipe! I'll give it a a try.

As for the Bahama Breeze Mojitos, I had one once, and I remember thinking it was pretty good. I prefer the Poly's version, though. Another great place for Mojitos is, believe it or not, Ruby Tuesdays, if you need something to hold you over until next visit :)

What's the Jessica's Surprise all about?

They have those at O'Charleys (a chain resturant here in KY) I love them! They are $8 for basically two drinks and the shaker with the recipe. I may have to go to T-Rex to try theirs.

Jessica's Secret?! Yuck! That was the first legal drink I had and the only reason I drank all of it was because a friend bought it, it was expensive, and it was alcoholic.

I had a really good drink at the pool bar at Pop last time I was down but I don't remember what it was called. I also have my drinks I HAVE to have when I go around world showcase but they aren't mixed. Strongbow in Rose & Crown (usually with fish and chips), I like the sparkling vodka in France but its expensive ($15 including the light up champange flute), Vlackenberg Dorenfelder red wine in Germany, & Rosa Regale in Italy.

"It's got 151 in it..."

That's probably why you can't think of the rest!

Although WDW admittedly has some good mixed drinks, I prefer to stick to the malt and barley fare.

A couple of my favorites (nothing special related to WDW, really):
Dos Equis ("Dos Yucky's" as my girlfriend calls it!) - Mexico - Epcot
Stella - UK - Epcot
Oh, and of course, anything served in a "Biergarten" mug at Germany!

I'll also give credit to some of the frozen drinks at Leaping Horse Libations (Boardwalk Pool Bar), as well as the frozen drinks served at the kiosk outside of Morocco.

I'm a big fan of the kiwi margaritas from the San Angel Cantina.

Last trip to the world, I took that bad boy straight from the Cantina into the 5 minute standby line for Maelstrom. Literally, the people around me could smell the tequila and were asking me what I was drinking. I was told by the CM at the front door I couldn't take it on the physical ride, so I had to basically chug it. Let me just say, by the time I was boarding my viking ship, it got the job done. :king:

You're gonna get a lashing for not putting Dole Whip in there somewhere. :)

I'm still coming off my FAWF high so...

1. Samuel Adams 13th Year Anniversary Festival Beer
2. Becks Oktoberfest
3. Becks Dark inside the Biergarten
4. I think it was Staropramen, the Czech beer in the UK.

Tradewinds from the Tambu lounge at the poly - not on the menu anymore but they can still make it.:slurp:

Orange/grenadine slushy from France as seen with Samantha Brown.

Lava colada from many of the resort and pool bars.

Of course these are all frozen fru-fru drinks, but hey, you're on vacation......

Is this Caribou Lou? 151, Malibu and pineapple juice, it's pretty amazing, but wow that price is very high!

Also in the UK, Strongbow hard cider on tap. Yum!

I like Stella too, but I can get Stella on tap in a number of places here in Boston. It's rare to find Strongbow on tap. I have to settle for bottles from the store.
