Does anyone else think this is possibly one of the most exciting days in recent disney history? The opening date for M:S is sealed in stone, and we get this great new ride announced over at AK!

Certainly in recent Disney history, this is the best day. Obviously, the opening of Disneyland takes 1st, and wdw a close 2nd, but in the past five or so years...this takes the gold!

I would hve to say top ten, ONLY because of the high tech capabilities of both Everest and Space.

I would think, as posted above, The opening of both Disneyland and World are obviously more exciting, and also the opening of each new park thereafter. I would rank the waterparks up there, and then the expansion of the monorail to MGM and AK, oh wait, that didn't happen did it. Tower of Terror was HUGE, too.

But, yeah, it's gotta be pretty high. What makes the news more exciting is that we have these great photos to look at. But I'm really excited about the August 15th Space date. As coincidence would have it, I'll be arriving on the 22nd of August. Just in time to ride it within the first 2 weeks of opening!

I second the day that Pressler left. He should have never worked for Disney in the first place.

This is the best day in a while, but what shouldn't be lost in all this excitement for WDW is that the Disneyland resort is in bad shape. Especially with the 50th anniversary coming up. I think wdw gets better treatment from the company as a whole, and while there are more parks to cater to, Disneyland is taking a beating. The disastrous state of Tomorrowland, including the long rehab of Space Mountain, the underperforming DCA, and morale as a whole over there is in need of help.

fortunately i'm really a wdw'er, so it doesn't affect me as much. Since I live closer to WDW and can drive there, i've been there alot more than Disneyland. But the park that Walt built and actually roamed needs some help.

I"m sorry if I sombered up this happy day at all. Today was a very good day for the parks. Let's just hope some of this can spill over to the west coast.

This is a great day for Disney! Expedition Everest looks awesome, and I am psyched because Mission Space will be open when I arrive on August 24th!!!!!!

Thanks a lot Disney!

while i agree that they are doing great things by expanding the ride options in the parks... i also have to wonder why they are investing so much into new rides/attractions and not also spending some time/money on the older attractions to spruce them up or even keep them open...

are they trying to compete with Universal and IOA in the thrill rides department? thrill rides are very popular - i realize that... but i also realize that not everyone likes thrill rides and i don't see a whole lot being added that isn't one... (of course i could just be taking the existing non thrill rides for granted...) don't get me wrong - i do find plenty to keep me going when i'm at the parks... but with a bad back i find that more and more attractions are things that i can't do vs an increase in the things that i can...

just my 2 cents worth... but i am honestly happy for those of you who will enjoy the new rides!

I don't consider WDW or DL opening recent.

I think its been the best day in a good few years.

Pressler should have worked for Disney, just in his expert area and not in charge of all the parks.
