DH and I will be staying at The Poly this September and wanted to know at which location and what 🍹 might be the best.

I've only had one cocktail at the Polynesian (the Lapu Lapu), but by the time I'd finished it, I was convinced that it was the best cocktail in the best resort in the best park in the best state in the best country in the entire world, and that every person I saw was the most beautiful, amazing individual I'd ever beheld. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure if the bartender remembered to add anything to that drink other than the rum...

Do you think in September there will be the “4 hour wait” to be able to get in there?

Depends on when exactly you plan on being there, and if you want to drink inside or not. If you are staying at the Poly, I'd expect you should find short lines at least once, or even just plan on having a mid afternoon drink, and stop by closer to when it opens instead of waiting until prime drinking time. Outside may have a shorter or no wait, and I think you can even do self service at the outdoor bar instead of waiting for a table. Not the same as being inside, but if it's a nice day and they have live music outside, the patio isn't a shabby choice at all.

True. This will actually be our first time staying at a deluxe. Might anyone have any nuggets of wisdom about that?

My absolute favorites are:

Kona Beer Flight (Trader Sam's)
Lapu Lapu (Tambu Lounge) I tend to have to share it because its pretty sweet
Spikey Pineapple (Trader Sam's)
Tahitian Torch (Trader Sam's)
Wasabi Mary (Kona Island)

If you find yourself curious about other Bar and Lounge locations around property and their menus be sure to check out this thread I created: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/resort-bars-lounges-specialties.897714/

I usually travel to The World in September and honestly you will be fine. The two times we went to Trader Sam's there was little to no wait. Both times we started on the Tiki Terrace and then decided to go inside both times they gave us a pager and we were in in less than 30min.
Also I have heard that if you go early around when they open you will have no problem at all getting a seat.

If you're hungry be sure to try: Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Hawaiian Poke, Headhunter Roll and the Salmon Oshizushi it was SOOO GOOD! Though I could have just sat at my other favorite (Kona Island) and stuffed my face with sushi and sake.

Thank you so much and the above post listing drinks also helped!

I'm partial to the Shrunken Zombie Head, but I've also had the Nautilus and it's pretty tasty as well.

The Frozen Pineapple drink at one of the pool bars - it's the adult Dole Whip. I sucked that thing down before we got to Ohana's. And wanted another. :hungry:
