Best Character Meet And Greet Memories and Experiences?

I'm sure the majority of visitors who visit any Disney park love seeing their young child come up and meet their favorite Disney character for the first time. I remember back in 2006 for my second trip to Walt Disney World. The one meet and greet that will forever been with me was my first meet and greet with Minnie Mouse at "Camp Minnie Mickey" at Animal Kingdom. At the time I had a crush on her, and she kissed me twice and I remember blushing and grinned in a very goofy fashion.

As of 2015, my experience with meeting Marie has officially topped that memory. So please excuse the long writing that I'm about to show since my Senior Trip lasted from April 28 - May 2 and we had alot of things to do for that trip.

I remember last year, I been planning on meeting Marie the kitten ever since I discovered she started doing meet and greets at Walt Disney World since 2007. Marie was exclusive to Tokyo Disneyland originally until she randomly showed up at Epcot's France Pavilion until 2013 when she started doing meet and greets at Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom. I will never forget how happy I was when she started walking from Town Hall straight to the meet and greet line. My guidance counselor asked the cast member working for the line for me to be first in line. Since I really wanted to meet her since day one. My guidance counselor recorded my first encounter with her. The cast member told me she starts doing meet and greets at 10:30am since Minnie was there since the opening of the park for each day. I remember meeting Mickey on April 28, the first day there. At first, I was confused on why she wasn't there at the time. I meet Mickey Mouse and asked him if he's seen Marie that day. He said "Gosh, I haven't seen her at all" and a cast member told use that she couldn't come out since it was raining that day and Marie was going to come out. I felt a little bit sad, but my guidance counselor (Who really cared about me) told me that we can come back on Friday (May 1) since the other students went to Blizzard Beach that day.

I remember Marie was very energetic that day, and she gave me a big hug. I then gave her my autograph book and while she was signing it. I said to her "You have no idea how much I was looking for you." she responded be nodding her head happily. When she was done signing it, she felt very flattered and shy around me. I think she started flirting with me to, and she gave me another big hug and kissed me 6 times. When I was done, I felt sad realizing this might be my last trip to WDW for another 10 years and also touched due to how much she loved me. We went back to "Disney's All-Star Sports Resort" where I was the only student there. I asked my guidance counselor if I can take a nap for a few hours (We we're about to head to Downtown Disney that day). He didn't mind and put a "Do Not Disturb" sign for my room. I started crying due to how touched that meet and greet was to me. It was also very personal, since Marie was the reason why I've gotten myself interested in Disney in the first place as well making me into a cat lover. She also kissed my autograph book which was really cute.

After out Senior class watched Circus De Solei's "La Nouba" we ate at the House Of Blues restaurant. My High School Principle,my guidance counselor, and other teacher ate with me. I told them about my experience of meeting Marie that day. I also told them alot of fun facts about Disney,it's parks, and some info about the cancelled Aristocats sequel. They we're all very impressed with my long story and wanted to hear more. I gave an idea to my guidance counselor if I could meet Marie one last time the next day. Since we leave on the next morning, he agreed with my idea.

On my final day, I went back to the Magic Kingdom and wrote her a message on my autograph book about how much I loved her. Most of the writing was going to be what I was going to say to her the first day. But I got extremely tongue-tied and decided to write it on two pages of my autograph book. When she came out, I gave her the book and began reading my message to her. Including signing another autograph for my friends and family back at her. She did just that, and kissed both pages. While she was signing it, I told her "This is my last day at Walt Disney World." and replied by rolling both of her index finger down her eyes telling me that she's sad that I'm about to leave. She gave me one last hug, and I whispered to her "I Love You" and as I was leaving her. She blew me two kisses right back at me, which cheered me up about me leaving to park. We went to Epcot next, and we ate at Italy. Before we left, I buyed two Marie cups. One was a glass cup and the other was tea cup. I also buyed my own Marie plush to take home. I currently have all of them in my bedroom. The reason why I cried, was because Marie was the only Disney character I wanted to meet the most since I was little. At the time, Marie only appeared in Disney merchandise and never did any meet and greets at the parks. The Scat Cats used to be the only characters from The Aristocats that ever did any meet and greets during the 1970's and 1980's.

What are your favorite meet and greet memories and best experiences that you had. It can be from your childhood or any of your Disney trips.

1989, sitting eating lunch with my mom and cousin as everyone else rode 20,000 leagues under the sea...we were the wusses who didn't want to be trapped in a sub underwater... All of a sudden out of nowhere Goofy appears and comes and sits at our table. He starts joking around and then stole my cookie and walked away and then came back. He was there for a good few minutes just being...Goofy. Worst part was all of our cameras were on the damn sub. hahahahah. However 26 years later we still talk about how random and cool it was. This was in July as well so crazy busy and no idea why he picked us out to goof around with.

It was 12' when we were at WDW to celebrate my youngest DD' s 4th b-day. We were in Tomorrowland waiting for my DH to ride SM. When out comes Chip n' Dale! So, we walked over to them & they started kidding around with my DD. We had just come from Kona so, my DD had her kid's menu in hand. Dale took it from her looked at it & rubbed his belly & gave it to Chip. It was great & we have some really cute Photopass pictures to prove it!

Reminds me of my first time meeting Chip N Dale back in 2006 at the Magic Kingdom at Mickey's ToonTown Fair. Dale took my Mickey Mouse pen and held it up high as he can while Chip was waiting for him to give it back and to begin signing it.

We got engaged in WDW last September, the following day we had those "I'll Be Your Mickey" and "I'll Be Your Minney" shirts on and were sitting on the curb watching FFP when Daisy walked up to us and took my Fiancée's hand and looked at the ring and then Donald had come over so she pointed at it to him and he threw his hands up shaking his head and she chased him off as they continues on the parade route. It was just a really cool and funny moment for us I guess :)

The first time my family went to Disney, the first character we bumped into was Captain Hook.....who proceeded to steal my sunglasses. Somehow my dad ended up with them, I didn't even see hook pass them to him.
I wished your dad did a sword fight with him.

My boys' first character was Pinocchio when they were 3. I have had some very nice experiences with Snow White and Mary Poppins. Those characters really took time to talk to the boys and have fun with them. Goofy at Chef Mickeys knew I was upset ( I had lost my credit card). He gave me the biggest hug ever!:joyfull: Tigger at Animal Kingdom was very playful, and as I walked away, he came "bouncing" to me with arms wide open for a big old hug!:joyfull: We did not care for our Merida experience. The boys liked shooting the arrows though. The bears should have been working.:( But, overall the character experiences have been great!:inlove:

I remember watching an old meet and greet video of a boy meet Dale. And Dale spent alot of time with that kid. I think it was shot sometime in the mid 90's, since characters spent much more time with guests compared to now where you would usually let them sign your autograph, then pose and leave. (I think that's mostly a Disney World thing, since in Disneyland some character are allowed to roam the parks.) Then again I heard characters used to roam the Magic Kingdom back in the 80's and 90's according to an old vacation planning video of Walt Disney World made in the 70's/

They don't "roam" anymore, but at EPCOT, they have some secret places where certain characters might "hang out" like Smee or even the Country Bears were tucked in a corner one year ( 2007) with Pluto.;)

Reminds me of the video where Mickey surprised a guest and opened a door that had Goofy,Max, and Chip N Dale behind the gate.

Ours has to be Chip n Dale. My son chose the mickey ears with chip on one side and Dale on the other. Chip flipped it so that he was on the front and then Dale flipped it so that he was on the front. It was pretty cute.

Chip N Dale making funny and cute meet and greet experiences. I told Chip N Dale to not mess with Donald during out visit to Epcot for our Senior Trip. The female Cast Member told use "Don't worry, we sure won't mess with Donald." with a playful sounding voice.

Ohmygoodness I have so many, but I'll narrow it down to a couple.

When I was about five, my grandma, my great grandma & I were at Epcot. It was back when they had the double decker bus come out with all the characters on it. My great grandma was in her late 80s and had suffered a stroke. She couldn't walk or talk and was in a wheelchair, but she still loved going to the parks. Terk from Tarzan saw that we were waiting in line and came over to us, ushered us to the front of the line, and gave my great grandma SO much attention. It was so magical and that was one of her last experiences at the parks, so I'll always treasure that memory.

More recently, I was met Merida at Magic Kingdom. The day before at the animation academy at DHS, we learned to draw Merida. I'm typically a terrible artist, but I actually did surprisingly well with Merida. I took my drawing to the park to show it to her and she was so giddy that I brought it for her. She proudly showed it to her character attendant and her photopass photographer before asking if I wanted her to sign it for me. It was one of the most magical encounters I've ever had and it made Merida one of my favorite characters.

I love meeting characters so much. :)

My favorite character experience is not a meet and greet but it is a wonderful memory. In May 2013 we decided to watch the Main Street Electrical parade. We found a spot close to Pecos Bills with very few people around and the float with Mickey stopped right in front of us for a few minutes and he proceeded to wave and blow kisses at us. He kept posing for us the entire time but unfortunately my camera cannot take pics at night and my husband's camera had a low battery so we only got one blurry picture but the memory will last a lifetime . We left MK that night feeling pretty special...lol.

My favorite Princess is Aurora. And my family is all boys so unfortunately there were was a "no princess" motto that was being inforced. Well while at the MNSSHP, I saw a cue line setting up and a few people lined up. I asked a cast member who by chance was coming out, and she said Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. My 5 year old self went nuts. I hopped right in line all excited while my husband and boys laughed at me. And I finally got to meet her, she came and took my hand and walked me over to the area where things were set up. I told her that she was my favorite and it was my dream since i was little to get to meet her and I loved her so much better in the blue dress. She laughed and said that Merryweather and Flora fight all the time about her dress. It was just so lovely. We took our picture and I asked if I could give her a quick hug, and she said sure. And when I hugged her, she whispered, "I'm glad I could make your dream come true." Well then I lost it and had tears in my eyes. Now I know in brain that it's just a really pretty girl in a very pink sparkle dress. But the little kid in me came out that day and I'll always be able to say i really did meet Sleeping Beauty. I'll just never forget it I'm even getting teary eyed just typing!:p

I have a few.

DBF and I met Aladdin and Jasmine one morning and they were very talkative. When I asked about Abu, they proceeded to tell us a story about how he likes to sit up in the trees and make banana cream pies. We also talked about shoes, since I told Aladdin how cool his shoes were.

Another was meeting Jack Sparrow during the MNSSHP last year. He was just great. Messing around and taking my DBF's hat (he was dressed like Indy) and putting it on my head lol! And then wondering where his own hat was. :hilarious:

Then there was Chip and Dale. I had my princess shirt on and they proceeded to point at wondering where they were, I told them there was room to add them. Totally unrelated but ironic was we met the Great Goofini a few hours later and he did the same thing, inquiring where he was on my shirt and I told him since I told Chip and Dale earlier in the day they could be on it, so could he. He gave me a huge thumbs up lol!

I LOVE meeting characters.
