Best Character Breakfast

My son insists on Chef Mickey's breakfast every trip. It is hands down his favourite character dining experience. In all fairness, he was too young when we went to Cape May for him to remember how great that was. The one that we wouldn't do again is Ohana. But perhaps we were there at a bad time. Try to get a early reservation. It seems that the restaurants are less busy early am and then the characters spend more time at your table. We did Cape May 4 years ago at 8am, and there were only 2 other tables in our section with diners. Minnie ended up pulling up a chair and sitting with my son for a few minutes.

This is so true getting there early. We had the Disney Junior breakfast at Hollywood & Vine a couple weeks ago at 8:10am. We were the only table in there for a little bit and the characters spent a lot of time with my daughter...which she loved!

Favorite Character breakfast is Ohana's hands down.

There's good character interaction at Ohanas, but the food is kinda meh and very limited in choice. On the plus side, I'm pretty sure it's amongst the least expensive choices for a character meal.

For a last day, something to consider is the brunch at Chef Mickey's. Unless you're catching a plane or train. You can sleep a little later, one last swim in the pool (maybe get a bagel or something small to tide you over), take your time packing and then hit the Contemporary before you hit the road. I'd also consider 1900 Park Fare. They don't do a brunch, but you can shoot for one of the last breakfast times, We did this last trip and as other families finished up and headed out, we wound up getting much more time with the characters. Plus, food continued to be made fresh; we were worried that by getting a reservation 10 minutes before breakfast ended, we'd be stuck with the leftover dregs, but that didn't happen at all.

We want to end our trip with a character breakfast.. We have 3 kids: ages 17, 8 and 3.. Any ideas? I was thinking Chef Mickey, but I really have no clue :) Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks so much :)

1. Crystal Palace- This is our absolute favorite. It is located in Magic Kingdom and features Winnie the Pooh and friends.
2. 1900 Park Fare- This one is located in The Grand Floridan and could make anybody feel like royalty. You would dine with Alice in wonderland, Mary Poppins, the mad hatter, etc...

- I would not suggest Chef Mickeys, it's chaotic and the food is generally not as good.

Park Fare is hands down my favorite, I love that they have face characters, and the food is wonderful. I haven't been to Ohanas for a few years, but I do remember it fondly. Chef Mickeys is fun, but it always seems so crowded and loud.
If you will be in the parks, Crystal Palace is great as well!

Hmmm, I've seen that a few votes for Ohana's for breakfast. What tends to make it a favorite above the other's, say 1900 Park Fare? Is it food, atmosphere, characters, size?? Also, do they have any other "princess" breakfasts other than CRT? I know my kids (2 boys, 12 and 10, are likely NOT going to be to jazzed about that one, but Mama is :p)

I think the fact the Lilo and Stitch are there, and the food being pretty good makes it a favorite. I personally love Park Fare most, I think having both face and furry characters there makes it really fun, and I love the juice they serve and the food is great for breakfast!
They have Akershus at Epcot, with the princesses (although Cinderella isn't there). It's in Norway, and I believe it's half buffet and half family style.

Our faves...Crystal Palace, 1900 PF, and CRT. H&V isn't bad, but our kids don't really care about the Disney Jr. characters. Cape May has great food, but I still feel like it should be more than 3 characters. Chef Mickey's is never bad and has the fab 5, but I can't help but feel that it should have a few more interesting food options. We've been to Akershus, Tusker, and 'Ohana as well, but they were between meh and really bad when we ate at those. I don't think it's that these 3 are consistently awful, since you'll see a lot of raves...I think it's just evidence that they are inconsistent in their attention to service and quality.

We did a few character meals on our trip. For breakfast, 1900 Park Fare was our favorite. There was lots of character interaction. Alice and the Mad Hatter were hilarious! It is so much fun when the characters can talk. Tigger was funny in his own way, and the kids really enjoyed Mary Poppins as well. This breakfast really has a character for kids of all different ages. The food was also very good. There was quite a selection. It's the only time I'll let the kids have gummy Bears with their eggs. Enjoying the inside of the Grand Floridian was just another perk. It is a beautiful resort.
