Phone is a good point if you have a nice one. I used my iPhone last trip and was happy with videos. Only trouble is I never have enough space for everything. One of those types who takes 1000s of photos.I say either waterproof case for your phone, or GoPro... depends on your budget.
In a few weeks, the Sony 4k action cam is supposed to be released. I'm gonna be looking into it as a supplemental video camera just to grab some 4K footage.I was thinking of getting a gopro, but not sure what to do either. And no, I won't be one of those people with the selfie stick or whatever they call it.
The action cams, such as the GoPro are poor at stability - if anything, they offer a digital system, which can help with small movement, but nothing large such as when walking. The best offering for stability is currently from Sony. Look for a camcorder with Balanced Optical Steady Shot.Does anyone know how the GoPro does while walking? That's my biggest problem with the video on my point and shoot. No matter how stable I try to hold it, when watching the playback it looks all over the place. Didn't know if the GoPro had better stability or is there another camera that is more stabile?
