After spending nearly five months at WDW altogether on the two wonderful opportunities I had to participate on the College Program, I figured now it was time to try DL.

My friend and I are planning a trip for the end of the next year (we figured it is never too early to start planning) and we would like to hear what DL-experienced people have to say about the best breakfast and dining options in the resort.

We are not looking for any specific kind of dish, we just want to hear what you think are the best places to have breakfast and to have dinner.

Can't be more of a help with the DL dining options - only been once and ate all QSR. But, where'd you do your ICP? I was a Spring 2010 CP at the front desk of Animal Kingdom Lodge.

These are my favorite breakfast spots

Carnation Cafe on Main St - Sit down place with yummy waffles

Riverbelle Terrace in Frontierland - Counter service

Main St Bakery - Pastries

For Dinner, I like

Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland

French Market in New Orleans Square

DCA:

Pacific Wharf Cafe

Boardwalk Pizza/Pasta

Lucky Fortune Cookery

Cucina Cucamonga Mexican Grill

If you are looking for character breakfast then the Storytellers at the grand California is the best for food and you get the chance for some slightly different characters such as Koda from Brother Bear and Turk from Tarzan.

Yes. It seems that when it comes to breakfast we are between Storytellers and Plaza Inn.

Am I right to assume that their buffets are pretty much the same - as it happens with Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and Tusker House at WDW - with the only difference being the characters we get and the theming of the restaurant?

If so, what characters usually show up in each of the restaurants? The Disney website is not very specific on that.

I'd like to know the same thing. My family and I usually go to WDW in FL, so we know what to expect from Character Dining places there. This year, we'll all be going to DL and DCA for the first time, and want to find out what the best breakfast places are, as far as characters, price, value, and quality of the food.

The Storytellers is by far the best for food quality and ambiance of restaurant, then PCH Grill and finally Goofy's kitchen and Plaza inn at the bottom both with some really poor quality food so if that is a big thing then go to one of the first two. Character wise Plaza Inn is Minnie and friends i have seen Captain Hook and Chipmunks, PCH Grill is Mickey Stitch and pals in beach costumes often with Daisy, Goofy's is chef Goofy Chip and dale and then a random other Character we have had Baloo, Aladdin and Pluto and finally Storytellers is Animal based we have had Koda from Brother Bear, Braer Fox, Turk from Tarzan and Meeko from Pocahontas this is a great place to get some unusual characters and you can pick up Mickey etc in the parks easily. Hope this helps to make your mind up and best to book in Advance for any of these as they fill up quick.

Thanks for all the information! We'll make sure to book in advance, how long before our trip would you recommend us to do the booking?
