We're staying at the animal kingdom and I'm a little scared to try Boma. I have some picky eaters in the group. Will there be normal food as well?

Try the french toast bread pudding! So good! They also have this wonderful breakfast drink that is a blend of passion fruit, orange, and guava juice which is very refreshing and a wonderful way to start the morning! Both highly recommended! But in addition (as noted) they do have standard breakfast fare as well (Mickey waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, etc).

We have done Boma for dinner many times and just recently stayed at AKL. It is truly just a beautiful resort, and Boma is possibly my favorite restaurant on grounds.

Both DW and I really enjoy Kona. When Tony's in MK use to serve breakfast, it was the best place to go to. If you didn't have reservations you could have been waiting up to an hour or more. Their cinnamon rolls were outrageous good and the sausages worth dying for.

I totally understand. My DD is only 12, so the character spots still work.
I'm 44 and still love the character meals. I hope my daughter never outgrows them. I know the teenage angst years will be tough. After that rollercoaster of emotions, she will still love them...I hope.

Boma and Ohana are both resort breakfast locations.

If you're staying at AKL then do Boma. You're right there! Yes, there are unique options. But you'll find the standard buffet food there too - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, waffles, pancakes, fruit, etc.

My second choice, while not a buffet breakfast, would be Kona Cafe. Favorites are the Tonga Toast, Big Kanuna Platter, Pinapple Pancakes and Samoan Eggs Benedict.

I have always enjoyed Cape May Cafe. The food is good and it never seems that crowded. Plus the characters in beach costumes are very cute and they seem to spend a decent amount of time at each table. If you are going to the water parks, the beach theme definitely would set the right tone.

I like 1900 Park Fare. The food is good, the character interactions are great, and you get an excuse to walk around one of the nicest resorts.
