One week from tomorrow, I will be on my way to Disney World with my boyfriend. It is our first trip together. I have been a few times before, the most recent trip being in 2010. He went a lot as a child but hasn't been since the mid 90's. This trip was my birthday present from him and I am so excited it is finally here!
Here is a general outline of our plans:
Day 1: Wake up early, get on plane, get on Magical Express, and head to AS Music resort. Arriving there around noon. We are not going to any parks on this day, so we will probably just relax by the pool (packing our bathing suits in our carry-on so we don't have to wait for luggage) and maybe head to Downtown Disney.
Day 2: We will be starting the day at Animal Kingdom. My boyfriend has never been since it wasn't finished the last time he was there. We heard that the best time to see the animals up and moving on the Safari is to go in the morning, so we will start with that and see where the day takes us. After we hit up all we want to see, we will probably head back to the hotel for a nap and some lunch/dinner. Then we'll go to the Magic Kingdom for whatever rides we can fit in before the parade and fireworks. I'd also like to finally see the Kiss Goodnight show at park closing.
Day 3: Going to MK to see the park opening ceremony (never seen one) and riding whatever we feel like until we get tired and need naps. In the afternoon, we'll head to HS for some rides and Fantasmic.
Day 4: Rest day/Pool day/Downtown Disney day. We have free passes to Disney Quest so I'm looking forward to exploring that. At night, we are going to take the monorail to all the monorail resorts to explore a little, have some drinks, and catch the water pageant (another first). I'd love to watch Wishes from the beach at Poly to end the night.
Day 5: Epcot! So excited to ride Soarin' again that I'll probably go there first, grab a fastpass, get in line, grab another fastpass, get in line again, etc. We'll have to start with the less intense version of Mission Space to make sure the boyfriend can handle it. Gotta see the new Test Track. Spaceship Earth, of course. And more exploring of world showcase goodness. And some Illuminations.
Day 6: First day of Star Wars Weekends. Even though the park will be mobbed, I'd like to see the park opening ceremony at HS. Hit a few rides if it's not too crazy (I'd like to go on Toy Story Midway Mania since I've never been on it) and if the park gets too mobbed, retreat to MK.
Day 7: The last park day, and therefore the "hit-up whatever we missed or want to do again" day.
Day 8: Last day in Florida : ( Our flight doesn't leave until later at night and check-out is at 11, so we'll be hopping in a rental car for the day and heading to Universal Citywalk to kill some time before heading to the airport. I might also go and check out Wilderness Lodge before we leave property since I have always wanted to see what the lobby looks like in person.
I'm the kind of person who is prone to "winging it" and just going with the flow, so who knows what will actually end up happening. And both of us like to just explore and people watch. I'm hoping we will have plenty of time for rides AND relaxing. We've got 2 ride line apps downloaded so maybe that will help!
