There are a lot of bars in the World -- way way more than you might think...

The best?

ESPN Club at Boardwalk for sports bar atmosphere

and

Raglan Road at Downtown Disney for plain old best bar in Orlando atmosphere, plus they have remarkable food

La Cava in Mexico is OUTSTANDING, great atmosphere and delicious margaritas.

Rose and Crown can be AWESOME as well, especially when the live music is playing and everyone in singing, loads of fun.

Blue Zoo at the Dolphin in very COOL, not crazy raucous crowd, just plain cool. Great cocktails.

ENJOY

We enjoy all the bars and lounges within WDW. Probably way too much.

Our favorites are definitely in the Disney Resorts, where it's a little more laid back and relaxing.

Victoria Falls at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is our top choice.
It's location on the mezzanine above Boma, but below the main lobby makes for an extremely unique experience.

Honorable mention goes to Territory Lounge at the Wilderness Lodge.
It's just got a special feel in there, I love the giant map!

Jellyrolls is my favorite nighttime hangout place on the property. Full bar, fun atmosphere, and they often have drink specials.

la cava epcot and the tambu lounge at the poly are my two favorites.

Agreed. I would add Dawa bar and Outer Rim to the list. The Outer Rim is assuming you get Ray as your bartender. The guy is great he does all kinds of magic tricks and makes a hell of a dirty martnini. Having said that though the best place for a dirty martini is Mizner's lounge. The place is perfect for a good cocktail or martini. Also Mizners and Outer Rim give out complimentary nuts which is a bonus.

We spend a lot of time in the bars and lounges around property when we vacation, so I have a lot of experience in this one. My top five would be:

The bluezoo Lounge in the Dolphin Resort
The Sanaa Lounge in Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani)
Jellyrolls in the Boardwalk Resort
The Rose and Crown Pub in Epcot's World Showcase (U.K. pavilion)
Scat Cat's Club in Port Orleans French Quarter

Tambu Lounge at Polynesian.
Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge.
Silver Screen Spirits at All Star Movies.
Rose and Crown (though the beer is very dark.)
Meizner's at Grand Floridian.
Riverside Roost at Port Orleans.
Mushroom Bar at Rainforest Cafe.

As someone who is about to travel to Disney for my 40th birthday....

For cameraderie and entertainment (and my personal go-to) but not so much for good drinks (good beer, yes...and OK mixed drinks) I would go with Rose and Crown.

For good drinks and possibly good music (depends on the night) Raglan Road.

For dinner with beers and good entertainment (but not a bar) I'd book an extended dinner at Biergarten.

Any of the resort bars have good potential. With the right bartender and crowd, any of them can be really enjoyable.

If you have a time machine, I'd recommend the Catwalk Bar in Hollywood Studios or Adventurer's Club - possibly my two favorite places in The World and sadly both gone.

Enjoy the vacation and let us know where you end up going!!

i use the entire world showcase as my bar haha...i just walk and drink and you cant beat the atmosphere at any bar near me. i would have said la cava de tequila but im a little sore on the place since they took out the appetizers. it used to be a fun place to snack and drink.

Agreed. The entire WS is the best bar. Just stroll up and down, getting a new drink whenever you feel the need. But out of them all, La Cava is also my favorite, but that's just cause tequila is my poison of choice.

Cava de la Tequila is great. The tequila is fantastic and the atmosphere is unique. It's easy to lose yourself in conversation over a smooth cactus concoction!

Every time we visit we want to go to Jellyrolls, but we still haven't. It always looks dead when we walk by. Is it fine to go any day of the week? What time is best to show up?

Jellyrolls is by far my favorite bar at the World. I love the atmosphere and I could just sit there for hours. On all my trips to WDW I make it a must do.

Fridays and Saturdays are pretty busy, and if you're not in there by 11, you're going to have trouble finding a seat. The place doesn't really get going until around 10.

Mondays, for the most part, are very quiet.

Thanks for the advice! Does a lot of dancing happen, or is it a sit and listen atmosphere?
