Best area of POP Century to request...

We will be staying at POP for the first time from May 19-27. I was wondering what the best area(s) of the resort is(are) for proximity to transportation and themes for 3 and 5 year old boys.. I know they can't guarantee rooms but I'd like to request based on what others have experienced. We don't mind a walk to buses if the theme is worth it! Getting very excited!

When we last stayed there my boys were 5 & 2 they really like the 70's area. Mostly cuz they had been bowling a few times to "got" the pool area. Plus they love dogs so Lady and the Tramp figures were perfect.

I believe that the 80's and 90's are closest to bus stops if you don't walk thru the courtyard but walk thru the front (parking lot) side. No place there is terribly far from anything so we didn't pay extra to stay at preferred area

Ok the 90's area has the computer themed pool. the 50's area has the bowling themed pool and the 60's area has the hippy dippy pool area. there is also a kiddie pool here and is near the main building and bus stops. we like the 70's buildings because they are near the back of the resort thus a little quieter. short walk to two of the three pools and very close to the main building and bus stops. if you have time, take a walk down memory lane and out on the bridge over hour glass lake. you will be able to see the new art of animation being built. oh and near the 70's building there is also a small playground, and goofys water jet playground. hope that helps.

I've stayed twice in the 70's and I really like that location. The Other time I've been there I was in the 90's, it was okay but seemed a bit removed from the resort because we were always cutting through the parking lot.

Have stayed in the 80's and 90's sections once each and the 50's section twice and have to say we LOVE the 50's best! We always get a room facing the bowling pin pool, which I believe is considered a preferred pool view now when booking.

Can't go wrong in any section though. :sohappy:

To add on to the OP's original question.... We'll be staying at Pop for the 1st time in Sept.

It would cost us just a hair under $100 to go preferred room for the week. Opinions on whether or not the preferred is worth it? 2 little ones and a double stroller to take into consideration too.

Thanks

I was going to ask for the 90's when i got there. It's closest to the bus stops. I don't like being near the pool though, sometimes the noise interfears with my sleep when there are late swimmers. I don't care if I have a view of the parking lot. I am only there to sleep.

Considering your two little ones and double stroller, I would definitely pay for a preferred room. It would be well worth it.

If you dont want to pay for preferred rooms then I would suggest the 70s building. We have stayed there many times. Its not a long walk to either the food court or the bus stop. Its handy if you have refillable mugs, too. We requested the 70s rooms when we made our reservations and again when we checked in each time and never had a problem...

I have stayed in the 80's, which was a lonnnnnnng walk to the main building and I have stayed in the 50's twice (building 1) which took about 2 mins. I definitely preferred the
50's. After a long day at the parks it is a short walk from the buses, food court and both pools. (Bowling pin and Hippy Dippy).

Both times we stayed at the POP we stayed at the 50s building facing the lake. Its nice and quiet. Also we had a view of the top of the tower of terror and saw some fireworks (not sure from what park). I would suggest 50s over anything else.
