Best and Worst Ride Stoppage

It's happened to us all. You're on TTA or SSE and the ride stops momentarily. A few minutes later, you're on your way.

Stoppages, short or long, are not just confined to TTA or SSE, obviously. So what's the best place (if there is such a thing) and worse place you've been stopped?

For me, the best was on TTA one evening, where I was able to get a good view of the castle and the fireworks going off whilst the ride was not in motion. Not too bad.

The worst was POTC, which stopped in the first scene, just after the mist screen. I like POTC, but the same song on loop was getting frustrating. Plus it took a bit longer to get going. I suppose it could have been worse, in that I could have been stopped in the mist screen itself getting dripped on, or stopped on IASW, and having to hear the song over and over again!

This is not about a ride stopping, but one time we were on Splash Mountain, one of my favorites, and there was no sound! It really changed the whole ride (not for the better). Thank goodness they fixed it right away!
were you around a bunch of AA's. seeing them and hearing the mechanics working as they move freak me out. I remember being bothered by the AA's at a chuck e cheese's and sticking my head under the curtain and seeing them move without any audio and... It gives me the willys lol

It's not at a disney park, but Harry Potter at IoA i got stopped face to face with a giant spider for a couple of minutes. kinda crazy to see that close for that long :D

got stopped on the top of Everest right before you start to go backwards. had to evac us and got to walk down the mountain. pretty cool to see inside, although the walk down was just a enclosed staircase. took an exit right after yeti scene, but got to see a lot of the mountain from the inside. cool stuff.

No sound just made the ride kind of boring to be honest, and I love SM!

worse stoppage wasn't a ride, it was the monorail. If I hadn't been impatient to get somewhere by a certain time, perhaps I could have enjoyed it, but 15 minutes in a monorail with 2 kids hellbent on getting to MK is hellish.

best: we stopped on our way out of the star filled sky in spaceship earth. leaning backwards. stars above, kind of zen. My daughter (5 at the time, now almost 8..).still says "remember when we were stopped in the place with the stars?" It's a bit of a sweet, happy memory.

I've only ever been evacuated once, and that was on UOE at EPCOT during Disney Trip VI.

The evac was caused by a kid decided he wanted to leave just as the main part of the show was starting. Despite numerous warnings from the CMs, the kid ignored them, necessitating the evacuation of the entire ride, which, according to the CMs, involved 1000+ guests.

EDIT: Changed from UOM to UOE. But I guess you guys knew what I was talking about!

The best was on the Haunted Mansion. I think it was the conservatory...the scene where the hand is lifting off the coffin lid, and the organ is playing.
Thing is...before I was ever stopped there, I never noticed the shadow of the organ player! Too cool! it lasted about 8 minutes.

The very worst, was the first time I ever rode IASW...and we were stuck in the entrance way between scenes. for a good 15 minutes.
So not only was there nothing much to look at (except the back of the scene we were exiting) but the soundtrack was playing discordant different versions of the song from the two scenes...in different languages.

I'm surprised I ever rode it a second time!

Best is stopping during SSE momentarily, been stopped in multiple scenes, but was never evacuated. Being stopped at the top of ToT with the doors open would be cool too.

The only time I've been evacuated is during Backlot Tours. We were at the Catastrophe Canyon and when the scene ended, one of the platforms that tilts didn't go back down. We waited about 20-30 minutes before people on bikes showed up and worked for a little bit. Then they told us we had to be evacuated. Kind of cool walking through that area, but we weren't given anything special for our troubles.

The worst place to be stopped would be in the middle of IASM.

A few years ago I was stopped on TT just after the truck and just as you peak into the barrier test. I just kept seeing the white truck bouncing into the wall again and again. All the while hearing the soundtrack over and over. It was a good 45 minutes. On the same go-round, we stopped on the outside loop just past the bank. That was another 20 minutes. Luckily they let everyone stay on and ride again.

Worst stoppage was getting stopped on The Seas with Nemo and Friends, the first (and last) time I rode it. We got stopped in that EAC hallway with projected bubbles, which was incredibly disorienting, because you couldn't tell if the clams were moving or not. There was no "remain seated" audio and I'd never been on the ride before so we thought it was just a really, really long hallway for a while. Got stuck for about 15 minutes. The most motion sickness I've ever gotten on any ride, anywhere. We ended up giving away our Test Track fastpasses to a nice family from Alabama because we were too sick to go on it.

We got stuck on Pirates this past November, right in front of the drunk pirate with the cats. We heard, " Here Kitty, kitty, kitty..." for about 15 minutes until they finally evacuated us. There were only about three boats that were stuck, it was first thing in the morning. It was great because we got to exit out of the back entrance and walk behind the building. We walked behind pirates and the jungle cruise. We walked very slowly and took it all in.

Best was in the middle of the dinner and dancing part of the Haunted Mansion. :D

Worst was in the hieroglyphics room on TGMR. That music can drive you nearly mad in 20 minutes. A bunch of us were getting ready to just leave. They should really cut soundtracks on those things when stopped for extended periods. Now I get why the military will use sound as torture.

I love COP but I once got stuck in there for what seemed like 30 minutes... I watched the same scene about 5 times! Then someone in the back started yelling "Don't close the doors"... tensions were high
