Having recently having a blast at Hershey Park for 2 days and Hershey for 4....i was thinking (scary thought). It became obvious to me that Hershey is far better than my local Six Flags in Awagam. I wouldn't pay to go to that Six Flags again. And its probably better than most of the Six Flags out there.

So Im wondering what is your most favorite amusment park.

My favorite is HersheyPark without going to Busch Gardens or Ceder Pt.

Top 3:
1. Magic Kingdom
2. MGM Studios
3. Epcot
(AK is somewhere much further down the list)

I have a feeling you'll get alot of those answers :). If I have to give a non Disney related answer I'd have to say Busch Gardens Tampa.

My viewpoint is biased since I am a season pass holder, but I would have to say Paramount's Kings Island. I will be going tonite as well as taking off Tuesday to spend the day at the waterpark.

This may change, of course, after my November trip to WDW.

I grew up going to Hershey Park (when you toured the real factory) and a great place in New Jersey call Palisades Amusement Park...you could see the place as you went over the George Washington Bridge from NY into NJ. (now its apartment buildings :( ). Can't stand Six Flags Great Adventure.

EPCOT
Hershey Park
Busch Gardens Tampa

Busch Gardens VA has enough theme, detail, and beauty for me to include that park in the "theme park" category, not amusement park.

Having said that, the best amusement park I have been to was Busch Gardens Tampa. This park seems very haphazardly thrown around and situated and less attention has been payed to themeing in recent years and decades I would presume.

The amusement pier in my area, Casino Pier, is also a fun place to be. They got new owners--FINALLY--and the new rides and money being put into the pier's operation are much appreciated and make the pier better.

Great Adv is bad, and it's usually a burden to go, but I do make that stop at least once each year. The coasters are fun with friends. But there is no mistaking that you are in a literal dump.

Favorite theme park, Disneyland :D

For non -disney park it will have to be Knotts Berry Farm (which has improved over the years)
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Sea World

Yes, BGT hasn't had too muc themeing in the past, but I think they are really starting to do a better job of that. They are starting major rehabs on every area of the park and I think they are really trying to theme it much better. Being a long time annual passholder I am eager to see it evolve over the next few years.

I love the way BGT is put together. Eastertime was our first trip & we just loved wandering around. My in laws liked it so much they are getting an annual pass.

I said Amusement not Theme so therefore Disney and Universal are out of the running

theme park (plural theme parks)

noun

amusement park with theme: an amusement park in which all of the entertainments and facilities are designed around a particular subject or idea

a·muse·ment park (plural a·muse·ment parks)

noun

outdoor recreation place: an outdoor area with a variety of mechanical rides, games, and other attractions that people pay to use.

You're arguing semantics, they are basically the same thing.

1- Islands of Adventure (argue all you want. The theming is broken far too many times for IoA to be effectively considered as a theme park by me)
2- Cedar Point

Going on the premise that all Disney parks are "theme parks" and that this is an "amusement park" discussion...

3. SF Magic Mountain
2. Paramount Kings Island
1. Cedar Point

Of course, this would be my list if you had said "thrill park" :D

besides disney of course,

-i love six flags great adventure- for the coasters, not for the people or lines or anything like that, but the coasters are great
-Dorney parks not that much action, but not too crowded, and you have a waterpark and a themepark
-ive heard great things about cedar point- i really wanna go there!
