Ben's Fun Trip Report

Our trip started at 2:30 PM on March 29th and ended today at 10:30 AM.

Day 1 (3/29/03):

This was a travel day. We left for Mlps-St. Paul Int. Airport at 2:30 PM. We took a US Air flight to Charolette, NC and then another US Air flight to Orlando Int. We then took a Mears shuttle to the Rennisance World Gate Hotel.

Day 2 (3/30/03):

We took a taxi to the All-Star Sports hotel (we originally planned to stay off-site for the entire trip but later decided that the last four nights should be at the All-Stars). Unfortunately they had run out of Annual Passholder benefits at the Sports so we had to stay at the movies.

We went to the Magic Kingdom and bought our Annual Passes (we're going back later this year so we figured that we should get annual passes). We then entered the MK and rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (which we videotaped). We took a grand tour of the Magic Kingdom on the WDW Railroad. Other rides we rode included the Riverboat and Jungle Cruise (taped).

We then went to Epcot for the evening. We walked around World Showcase for a bit and went back to the hotel for a while.

We went to the hotel and checked in. We hoped that our luggage would be there from the All-Star Sports by that time but it wasn't. We called the front desk and they said that our luggage would be there in a half hour and that we didn't have to be in the room at the time so they they reccomended that we go to the food court (it was just about dinner time). We ate dinner and went back to the room, expecting that by now our luggage would have to be there. It wasn't. This was starting to annoy us because it had been about 45 minutes and we wanted to get back to Epcot to see IllumiNations (it was pretty chilly that night, and we wanted our jackets, which were in the suitcase). We must've called the front desk two more times before we finally got our luggage. I guess the moral of the story is that if you're staying at the All-Stars, don't count on their luggage service.

We went back to Epcot and saw (and taped) IllumiNations. It was a pretty fun day, luggage and all.

BTW, It was cold and rainy that day, and the parks were deserted.

Just to let you know, I'll probably get around to posting the rest of the report tomorrow. I took notes every evening when I was there, that's what I'm writing the report from.

Ok, I've been having some computer trouble. Here's days 3-4

Day 3 (3/30/03):
According to my pedometer, I took 23,003 steps today. We started today out at the Magic Kingdom. At the Magic Kingdom we saw Jungle Cruise, the Haunted Mansion, the TTA. Then we went over to MGM. There we saw Who Wants to be a Millionaire (I sat in the fastest finger seat). We also went on the Backlot Tour and saw the Muppet show. We saw and taped Fantasmic that night (and taped it). As we were walking out of the park, I overheard an interesting conversation:
Man: S***, I just threw my ticket away.
Woman: Shut up!
Man: That's 200 @#$%ing dollars!
Woman: That's the third.
I don't know if she meant third ticket he lost (that would be very weird) or third straw, that's just what I heard. We got some souvinier mugs at Fantasmic. You know those ones that they sell at events?

Day 4 (3/31/03):
We started our day out Animal Kingdom. We didn't really do much there (it's my least favorite park). We then went to MGM. At MGM we went on the Backlot Tour and the Magic of Disney Animation tour. I saw a poster on the wall of the animation offices for "Mickey Mouse in Runaway Brain". We then went over to the Magic Kingdom. When we got there we saw the "Share a Dream Come True" Parade (videotaped it too). That night we saw "Fantasy in the Sky" fireworks. That day we spent alot of time in the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

Well, here ya go....

Day 5 (4/2/03):
That morning we went to Epcot and finished everything we hadn't done yet (JIYI, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Living Seas, Spaceship Earth). Then we went to MK (we went to the MK every day on this trip). We went on Jungle Cruise, TTA, WDW Railroad, and Buzz Lightyear. That night we taped Fantasy in the Sky. This was our last full day in the park.

Day 6 (4/3/03):
This was just our travel day. We flew home. Nothing interesting.

When I get my photos I'll post them.
