Ben Affleck as Batman!?

My interest in this movie just went from curious to don't care. He's going to be overpaid and I really can't see him pulling off a convincing Batman. I can't believe he was the best out of all the possibilities they had knocking on their door.

Sadly, Bale thought differently.
According to sources, Bale was Plan A. in being the Caped Crusader, but he was not too keen on returning to the role. He had said at one point that he was "considering" coming back as Batman for a JLA movie. But he balked at the idea of this Superman/Batman film, and was not too thrilled with early storyline concepts. The studio certainly tried to reel him back into the role.

I didn't like him as a super hero in DareDevil and don't see him as being a good batman whatsoever...

Yet another nail in the coffin for this film. I know, I know... it's not even in production yet, but everything I hear about it makes it sound worse to me. Of course, I'm a lifelong comic book fan, so I'm a bit pickier than your average movie-goer.

Bale is batman.
Probably because it has been rather well expected that Nolan's Batman Universe is distinct from the hopeful DC Cinematic Universe. Nolan's characters exist in a world without Superman or any of the other DC heroes.

You know people thought it was ridiculous when it was announced that Heath Ledger was playing the Joker.
But this is still Affleck playing a superhero directed by the guy that made Sucker Punch so I just can't get behind this casting. Plus you know they are going to make him do that gravelly voice Bale did.

That was a highlight to me. It's how he does his voice in the books.
I am good with the choice. I have always had a hard time criticizing an actor's performance that has not happened yet. As it has been pointed out, the internet did not react well to Heath Ledger being cast as the Joker and he produced arguably the best performance in any comic based movie to date.
