I know from pulp fiction the quartet pounder is called the royale with cheese. They never mentioned what they called fries:)

The only things I've ever purchased from a McDonalds in Europe is a bottle of water so I don't feel guilty for stealing their wifi.

I see one crap french beer (Kronie), one meh belgian (Hoegaarden), and two awesome belgians.

Not a bad attempt, but they could've gone a lot better without having to raise the price.

Yeah, Kronenbourg is meh, and Hoegaarden isn't all that as wheat beers go. In fact, Busch's Shocktop Wheat is actually better than Hoegaarden.

Haven't tried the Chimay Blue, but the Saison Dupont is FANTASTIC!!!! I love beers with a touch of citrus, and Saison is superb in that regard. I highly recommend it.

The PBR crowd?

Pabst is the largest American brewer now that the big 3 are all foreign owned (or is it big 2 now that Miller and Coors got together). If you are ever in Milwaukee the Pabst brewery tour was pretty good even if the beer wasn't. Lakefront Brewery was my favorite.

Yes but Yuengling is America's oldest and best brewer.

Oldest. Yes. Best...depends on what your are talking about. If you are only counting large scale breweries with major distribution it probably ranks right up there with Sam Adams and a few others in my opinion. If you bring in the smaller micro breweries and craft beers not close. For me the only Yuengling beer worth drinking is Yuengling Lager. I grew up on the stuff and I still love it. It's available all over FL now that they have a brewery there too.

I have gotten more into craft beers lately with a lot of good breweries close to the Philly area (Victory, Stoudts, Dogfish head and Yards to name a few) and some great beers from further away that are still available all over the area like Magic Hat, Stone and Russian River. I recently picked up a variety pack of beers from the Kona Brewing Company after I had a few Fire Rock Pale Ales at the Kona Cafe in the Poly this June. It's a pretty decent beer (cool looking bottle too) that I first had in Hawaii 10 years ago that is now being imported to the main land and I guess distributed all over the East coast.

I'm just happy they aren't insane prices. $6-8 isn't bad

I don't think I've ever had a french beer. Just give me a cold Ale or Pilsner and I'm happy. I don't like 'food' beers (tastes like food, has visible food bits in it) or 'bread' beers (so thick it is like soaked bread)

Pilsner all the way. Thick beers choke me.

Not quite sure where you are located, but the Kona you drank is almost definitely not imported from Hawaii. They sold like 60,000 barrels last year, but only brewed around 10,000 in Hawaii. The remainder was brewed at either Widmer or Redhook. So if you are on the east coast, odds are that Hawaiian beer came from beautiful tropic islands of Portsmouth New Hampshire......

Pabst doesn't make any of their beer, it is contracted out.

Yes but Yuengling is America's oldest and best brewer.

It is also the largest american owned brewery that makes their own product.

Since we are sufficiently off topic, let me lead us a bit further off...

Fall beer season. IMO, the best season of the year. My fridge currently has Sam Adams Octoberfest, Victory Festbier, Sam Adams Fat Jack, and finally my favorite fall seasonal, Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale.

So what are you all enjoying this fine fall season?

"best" is extremely subjective.

There are many beer that, if being judged, are excellent, but if you don't happen to enjoy that style, you will never like them.

There there are others that as far as a style is concerned are way off the map, but are still enjoyed by many.
