Beer Selection at WDW

Hi all -

A pretty random question, but I thought I'd throw it out there for discussion. I know that Disney has the "Wine and Dine" plan or whatever it may be called where they pair your meals with wine and I was wondering if they've paid any attention to the beer selection. I'm a complete beer geek, and am hoping that WDW jumps on the fledgling bandwagon that is Craft Beer and starts offering a wider selection through out the parks (hoping = pipe dream, I know). But basically, other than German beer in Germany, UK beer in Great Britain, and the Gordon-Biersch microbrewery at the Boardwalk, can anyone else point me in the general direction of good beer locations on property (oops, forgot Raglan Road for Irish/British Macrobrews).

Thanks, all.

Cheers,

Dave

Crews Cup Lounge at the Yacht club is as good a place as I have found for beer selection. It has a decent variety of imports and larger brewers craft beer. There are some fine beers to choose from. Stop by and try it out.

Hi Dave....

You may want to check out Big River Grille and Brewing Works at the Boardwalk. From what I remember, they have a pretty nice variety of micro brews and seasonal lagers. The food is pretty good too. Hope that helps you out.:slurp:

edit...oops. Is this the same place you mentioned in your thread? (Gordon-Biersch Microbrewery) I wasn't sure if they changed names. Sorry.

It's all good. It is the same place. When I was writing my post the name escaped me, but I knew it was a Gordon-Biersch outfit. Yeah, that shows how much of a geek I am.

I'll have to check out the Yacht Club lounge. I'm all about finding a "go to" place at Disney. My last trip, it was kinda hard to get a beer after a long day at the park unless you want to overpay for a sixer. This may have been affected by my stay at a moderate resort. I may have to kick it up a notch for our next trip (hopefully next summer).

Keep the beer suggestions coming!

Cheers,

Dave

Heading for the great escape.
Just please please dont drink the dish water that is passed as beer in the UK pavilion. It really is a poor representation of the fine ales of this fair isle, chemically loaded fizzy water.

What kind are you referring too? I quite enjoy a Guinness or Strongbow cider from there.

If you would care to make my discerning beer palate happy, you can gladly ship me a cask of your local pub's finest. And please try to keep it at cellar temp.

Additionally they are offering a unique selection of bottled beers as well as organic draft beers at the Wave restaurant (located at the contemporary). They do also offer the draft beers as a tasting flight!

That's cool. Any specifics on that?

You might think about heading over to DAKL and trying some of the African Beers they have. I believe they also have some in AK.

Try a half strongbow half boddingtons the next time you go. You get beer and cider, very nice!

I'm going to have to pass this along to my dad, he's recently become a HUGE Boddingtons fan.

I'm hoping to try the stuff at the Boardwalk this trip. I'll be there for Food & Wine fest though, so I might have to pick and choose a bit! I'm a little girl and can't hold my drink as well as I could in college! :p:hurl:

And to IndyDisney, greetings from your neighbor in DuBois! This was a great idea for a thread.

Hopping on the Beer Bandwagon:

Does anyone know if Sam Adams (specifically Sammy Light) is available anywhere?

That may be the Boston-gal in me, though....
